Trans People Celebrate Being "More Than T" In Empowering Showtime Documentary

"These stories should be inspirational to anyone of any identity."

Showtime will shine a spotlight on seven transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals in its upcoming documentary More Than T.

Created by Silas Howard (Transparent, This Is Us) and Jen Richards (Her Story), the film will explore the unique experiences that trans people face on a daily basis by going beyond the headlines and showcasing multidimensional human beings instead.

Howard directed the doc and says it will break away from the common theme of isolation that is so often depicted in other films featuring trans representation.

"These stories should be inspirational to anyone of any identity, because it’s about how can I be active in the world and engaging the world for change with passion and authenticity?" Howard said. "Everyone in this film is doing that, regardless of whether or not they’re dealing with homelessness or any kind of economic, racial or sexual oppression."

"We really need these stories to recover our humanity these days and to connect us, especially with what’s going on in the world," he added.

M·A·C Cosmetics produced the film as another step in the M·A·C AIDS Fund's goal of combatting stigma and HIV/AIDS in the transgender community.
