We’ll be spotlighting 100 more of the greatest minor hits of the decade, the songs you don’t hear on any 80’s nostalgia show. Songs that missed the top ten, or top twenty … or top forty. At #63 is “Sausalito Summernight” by Diesel

This exuberant, classic driving song was a favorite of my older sister, who used to crank it while she got ready for going out on Friday nights in high school. I asked her once who sang it, and she said “Duh, it’s Steve Miller, dumbass!” So it felt good years later to finally throw in her face “Ha! It was not Steve Miller, you dumb ho!” Of course, I probably could have waited for a better time (she was in labor). It was actually performed by Dutch band Diesel, who took their only charting single to #25 in November 1981
