MTV Announces “Teen Wolf” Will End With Season Six

Wolf Pack no more?

It’s the end of the Wolf Pack: MTV’s supernatural series Teen Wolf will end after its upcoming sixth season.

The news was announced yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con, TVLine reports.

Over the past five years, the show amassed a massive and intense following and pioneered queer representations on a mainstream show aimed at young adults—with characters like Danny (Keahu Kahuanui), Corey (Michael Johnson, l), Mason (Khylin Rhambo) and Brett (Cody Saintgnue).

Much of that is due to Teen Wolf’s openly gay creator, Jeff Davis, but ardent shippers still craved more.

“I know I’ve been accused of de-gaying the show at certain points or upsetting the shippers,” Davis told Jim Halterman in February.

“But there are ups and downs with it and you want to write something that feels natural to the show, and this felt like a natural progression in the show, and I love these characters.”

Davis says he tried to encourage closeted cast members to come out—indeed former TW stars Charlie Carver and Colton Haynes have both come out since appearing on the show.

Teen Wolf also gave us plenty of homoerotic moments, both on-screen.
