At this year's MTV Movie & TV Awards, Love, Simon won Best Kiss for the emotional Ferris wheel lip lock between the movie's stars, Nick Robinson and Keiynan Lonsdale.

"I just want to say to every kid: If you can live your dreams, and wear dresses, you can live your dreams, and kiss the one that you love, no matter what gender they are," Lonsdale said as he accepted the award at the ceremony.

Love, Simon beat out tough competition from kisses featured in other pieces of pop culture from this past year including Riverdale, Ready Player One, Jane the Virgin, and Stranger Things.

Tiffany Haddish hosted the event, which featured other notable winners like Wonder Woman winning for Best Fight, Lady Gaga's documentary, Gaga: Five Foot Two walking away with Best Music Documentary, and Black Panther for Best Movie. Out actress and writer, Lena Waithe was also honored with the 2018 Trailblazer Award.
