Music Monday: 5 Songs You Need to Hear Today

New tracks to get you in your feelings this week…

NewNowNext spotlights new music by upcoming and established artists we think you should know about. Tell us what you think in the comment section.

Elliot Jones – “Emotions”

I feel like I’ve been effectively wooed. L.A.-based Elliot Jones just dropped the kind of dreamy track that makes you want to hold someone’s hand during a summer sunset. This is a total date night vibe. “Emotions" hones in on minimal tropical sounds, backed by flirty lyrics that build into a climactic sing-along chorus that's both euphoric and danceable.

Kisos – “Happily Ever After”

Kisos crafts music to break your heart and heal your soul, and nothing hurts quite like a first heartbreak. "Happily Ever After” is a raw and honest portrait of this kind of pain, but with a sense of triumph that comes from powering through. This incredibly catchy and relatable new track is Kisos’ first single off of his upcoming EP Sweet Nothings.

Gia Woods – “One Big Party”

Gia gives us an interesting reflection on good times, reminding us that what may seem like the greatest moments ever isn’t always the case if you look a little closer. We have a tendency to distract ourselves to get by, but those moments don’t last forever. Her vocals are stunning over these chilled out low-key pop beats. Perfect for laidback nights out that make you think.

EJ – “Why U Mad”

EJ’s toughness and femme attitude shine through on this track that is a sweet, yet spicy kiss-off to presumptuous girls blaming him for their own relationship troubles. Over a bubbling trap instrumental, he cuts haters down to size with an acerbic and whip-smart flow, flexing his skills as a rapper, songwriter, and comic. I’m smiling while bopping and totally here for this.

Baum – “Fuckboy”

Flipping the usual script, BAUM owns this new track that refuses to drift into victim status when dealing with the nonsense that comes with dating and putting yourself out there. It’s a message of self-love and women being unapologetic about their sexuality. Full of confidence and playful swagger, this is the first track from her upcoming sophomore EP, due out this summer.
