Must Watch: Stephen Colbert's Tearful Tribute To His Mother
Stephen Colbert, one of the great LGBT allies in (fake) news, breaks your heart with this tribute to his late mother.
We get a lot of quality fake news from Stephen Colbert. His jingoist shtick is often a clever framework through which he funnels great LGBT support. On Tuesday's Colbert Report, the funnyman took a break from fake anchoring to deliver a genuine monologue. His beloved mother Lorna died last week at age 92, and his tribute to her memory is... well, just watch and get choked up yourself.
But I will quote my favorite part: "I know it may sound greedy to want more days with a person who lived so long, but the fact that my mother was 92 does not diminish it; it only magnifies the enormity of the room whose door has now quietly shut.”
Wow.
