Natalie Portman And Lily-Rose Depp Are Psychic Sisters In "Planetarium"
In the new English-language trailer for the French film "Planetarium," Natalie Portman and Lily-Rose Depp play a pair of American sisters who make a name for themselves by communing with the dead in 1930s Paris.
The film, directed by French filmmaker Rebecca Ztolowki, follows psychic sisters Kate and Laura Barlow as they partner with a powerful Parisian filmmaker intent on incorporating their supernatural gifts into his most ambitious project yet.
In one still from the film, Portman can be seen lying completely nude on a beach laughing. "Planetarium" was filmed in Paris in 2015 before Portman became pregnant with her second child. (She's due sometime this month.)
Lily-Rose Depp, the seventeen-year-old daughter of Johnny Depp and French actress Vanessa Paradis, made headlines in 2015 when she seemed to come out as "sexually fluid" by participating in the Self Evident Truths project, for which photographer iO Tillett Wright set out to photograph 10,000 Americans who identify as "not 100% straight" ("even 1% gay!").
In 2016, the teen model/actress clarified her comments in an interview with Nylon, saying, “That was really misconstrued, the whole thing. A lot of people took it as me coming out, but that’s not what I was trying to do. I was literally doing it just to say that you don’t have to label your sexuality; so many kids these days are not labelling their sexuality and I think that’s so cool… You don’t have to label yourself because it’s not set in stone. It’s so fluid."
Planetarium was released in France in November. An American release date hasn't yet been set.
