NBA Player Kelly Oubre Clarifies: “I’m Not A Lesbian”

"I understand—I'm a pretty dude," says the Wizards forward.

Washington Wizards forward Kelly Oubre Jr. has started a one-man campaign to let people know he is not, in fact, a gay woman.

“People call me a lesbian a lot,” Oubre said on the Tipoff podcast. “They think I look like a female girl or a teenage girl or something. I understand—I’m a pretty dude. They might be mad that their wife likes me or something.”

“I’m a grown man. I’ve heard that [I’m a lesbian] multiple times,” he revealed. “I guess it’s something to try to get under my skin, but at the end of the day I know who I am.”

One thing that doesn’t get under Oubre’s skin is being cussed out by fans: “The whole Boston crowd screaming ’F U Oubre,’ that was pretty creative of everybody in their arena,” he said. “But I loved it, it was just part of the game.”
