NBC Picks Up Gay Remake Of "Hart To Hart"

The early-'80s original starred Robert Wagner and Stephanie Powers as a mega-rich couple who solved crimes in their spare time.

NBC has put into development a remake of the late 70s/early 80s series Hart to Hart, only with a gay couple replacing Stefanie Powers and Robert Wagner.

The original Hart to Hart, which ran from 1979-1984, saw Wagner and Powers playing Jonathan and Jennifer Hart, a rich couple who solved murders between gala openings and trips to Aspen. (Like Nick and Nora Charles, but with more hairspray.)

Executive-produced by Aaron Spelling (Dynasty, 90210) it was campy fun, and spawned several TV movies.

The new version, produced by Carol Mendelsohn (CSI: Miami) and written by Christopher Fife (Revenge, Private Practice), would follow “by the book” lawyer Jonathan Hart and free-spirited investigator Dan Hartman, who must balance crime-solving and domestic bliss.

Kind of feels like this was made for Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, no?
