In case you missed it, last night, for her new show, Oprah’s Next Chapter, the queen bee of journalists ventured into the home of Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka. Up until now, the couple have seemed almost secretive about their personal lives, especially concerning their twin children, Harper and Gideon. But last night the actor couple finally showed off their devastatingly tasteful nest (complete with an outdoor brick oven and the sleekest nursery imaginable), perfectly tucked away in the heart of the Valley.
The “barefoot” interview is delightfully pleasant, but also manages to touch upon deeper subjects, like both Harris and Burtka’s coming out to their very traditional parents and how Burtka deals with Harris’s success in the same field. And even when bringing up the infamous Perez Hilton incident (to remind you: Perez tried to “out” Neil), the Emmy-winning, Tony-hosting Harris was gracious.
Between David’s gourmet cooking for his children and Neil’s ability to keep his fame from getting in the way of family time, these two are like an advertisement for marriage equality – hopefully a few of those awful One Million Moms still listen to Oprah.
