NPH and David Burtka Are Merry Messes in New Walgreens Ads

Neil Patrick Harris and his hubby's holiday campaign celebrates Christmas chaos.

Because sometimes a mess is just as #blessed.

We all know the holidays can be disorganized and unpredictable, so Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are keeping it real in Walgreens' new #TrueHolidayStory campaign, which finds the beauty and humor in memorably imperfect moments.

After all, the actor and celebrity chef are busy working dads of two kids, twins Gideon and Harper, so their life doesn't always look like a Christmas card.

In the frustratingly festive new spots, Harris and Burtka's Yuletide is less than gay thanks to tangled lights, broken ornaments, forgotten presents, missing batteries, winter colds, and more.

Their snippy banter—"What, you used to be a doctor on TV or something?" Burtka replies to his know-it-all hubby's laryngitis diagnosis—is a gift for everyone.

Let's just hope NPH and DB hire some extra helper elves this year; the power couple tells Walgreens News they're planning a big holiday party, complete with an oyster shucker and gospel choir!

"One of the nice things amidst the chaos of the holiday season is that it quiets down, and you’re allowed to just coexist with your kids and your spouse and just be together," Harris says.
