Neil Patrick Harris Sings for Neuro Sleep, Preps Dr. Horrible Sequel

Neil Patrick Harris

Neuro Sleep may sound like some kind of evil toxin created by Dr. Horrible, but it's actually an over-the-counter sleep aid that comes in a variety of fruity flavors.

The company tapped How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris to appear in a commercial, along with rapper Problem and singer Asher Monroe, after polling customers about who they'd like to see shill for the product. Jon Jon Augustavo, who filmed  Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" video, directs.

To celebrate its release, Neuro is giving away some free bottles. Considering how eager NPH is to lick the packaging, we'll assume it tastes pretty good.

Speaking of Dr. Horrible, it looks like the beloved blog/show might be getting a part 2.  According to Entertainment Weekly, the producers have begun discussing what a possible sequel to the mad musical might look like but have unfortunately found themselves tied up with other projects.  Jed Whedon had this to say about the franchise:

We know we have spoken publicly about a sequel in the near distance and our passion to create it, and I promise we have not been insincere. Horrible is still one of our favorite creations by humans who were also us. We have many songs written and the plot outlined, but needless to say, we’ve been busy. Joss has had a hectic couple of years and is in the middle of the busiest year of his life, as is Zack and as are we. Also the actors have other things they’re acting in, I think. So the future is uncertain, our passion remains. DH2 will exist, in some format or another, at some point in the future. Unfortunately, the when is still unclear.

Hey, while we're revisiting old intellectual properties, can we get an update on that Buffy reboot?  Those vampires aren't going to slay themselves.
