A new cookie commercial from Costa Rica features a variety of families, including a loving gay couple and a stay-at-home dad.
When a son asks his father why one of Pozuelo cookies is called “Familia,” Dad explains that the cookies, like families, come in all different forms.
We see examples like two men gardening and cooking together, as well as a father packing his children’s lunches as his wife goes off to work.
“Papi, como nosotros?” (“Like us, Daddy?”) asks the little boy. “Si, mi amor,” the seemingly single father replies, “como nosotros” (“Yes, my love, like us.”)
The ad ends with the tag line: “Cuando hay amor, hay familia.” (“When there’s love, there’s family.”)
It’s a touching and inclusive spot, i reminiscent of Tylenol’s recent #HowWeFamily campaign. Costa Rican audiences are taking to the ad as well, sharing photos of themselves with their families and using the hashtag #CuandoHayAmorHayFamilia.
