New Details On "Looking" Movie Plot Confirm An Important Milestone, New Characters

The cancelled HBO series will find new life next year.

Looking fans rejoice! New details have emerged about the cancelled series’ upcoming “wrap-up” film, and from the sound of it, series creators Andrew Haigh and Michael Lannan aren’t quite ready to totally wrap things up.

Are they doing it on purpose, hoping to keep some loose ends untied for a possible future reboot?

TVLine’s Michael Ausiello shared some insider details about the film, reportedly titled Looking for an Ending, and revealed it will find the cast celebrating “an important milestone” and adding a few new faces to their group.

Ausiello writes:

Filming gets underway on Nov. 2, which is why Jonathan Groff is stepping away from his role in the Broadway smash Hamilton for the entire month of November (Girls‘ Andrew Rannells will temporarily replace him in the musical). The working title of the two-hour sendoff is Looking For an Ending (I have to imagine that will change) and it finds the gang coming together to celebrate an important milestone. Several new faces will be joining Patrick, Dom & Co., including cute twentysomething tech savant Jimmy and thirtysomething “muscle bear” Jake.

The film, which is coming at the demand of fans, also has the cast excited. Earlier this month, Russell Tovey tweeted a tease of his script:

Looking for an Ending doesn't have a firm release date yet, but it's expected to make its TV debut in March or April 2016.
