Last year, Barbie got a 21st century makeover with Mattel’s #TheDollEvolves campaign. The iconic toy became available in new sizes (tall, curvy and petite) with different skin tones and fashion ensembles.
Now it’s time for Ken to undergo a transformation of his own.

The new Ken dolls, part of the Barbie “Fashionista” line, debuted today on Good Morning America, and we are sure you will see some of the same looks at your local Pride celebration this weekend.
Ken now comes in three different body types—slim, broad and original—and the doll will feature seven skin tones, eight hair colors and new hairstyles—including a man bun!

“By continuing to expand our product line, we are redefining what a Barbie or Ken doll looks like to this generation,” Lisa McKnight, Barbie’s senior vice president and general manager, said in a statement. “Evolving Ken was a natural evolution for the brand and allows girls to further personalize the role they want him to play in Barbie’s world.”

When Ken debuted in 1961 he sported nothing but a swimsuit and a towel and now he looks like he’s about to head out to the Hamptons!
Ten of the Ken dolls are on sale today and an additional five more will be available in the coming months. Which of the new Kens is your favorite and which of their outfits will be you copying this summer?
