New Music: Strings Meets Hip-Hop! Clean Bandit Makes "Telephone Banking" Look Arty.

Clean Bandit is a gang of six musicians, apparently they're all students in London who studied classical music but who also make songs that mash up elements of electronica and hip-hop. I'm just a sucker for the melodic, long-distance dreaminess of their new single and video "Telephone Banking." It's cool and crisp, just like this post-hurricane/late-summer weather we've been having.

They make their own videos, and they do a brilliant job.

DON'T try that cello-playing atop a moving vehicle stunt at home, kids.

Clean Bandit has some sort of release coming in the UK next Monday, September 5th. And as best as I can tell, they've just played at university gigs and festival around the UK and Europe. They can be your new fall semester crush.

After the jump, check out the video for the band's song "Mozart's House," released last year.

I also like "Mozart's House." It's a bit of a treatise on what electronic music is, or isn't, or can or might be. Plus, it sounds badass and inventive and the video here, too, is lovely. You'll see great Euro-looking locations, shirtless guys getting dripped on, and just attractive studenty folks.

A few choice moments from "Mozart's House" to tease you.

Enjoy Clean Bandit responsibly. Thank you.
