Men Go On A Hunt For Transgender Women In Terrifying Video From New Orleans

The clip was first shared online earlier this week.

A chilling video of two men stalking and eventually assaulting a trans woman while she was walking alone on the streets of New Orleans has surfaced online.

The footage was originally posted on Facebook by the assailants, but was taken down by the social media site. It was later re-added by user Felicity Noire, who wanted to share the clip as a call to action.

“So these two ‘straight’ guys ‘volunteered’ their time to ride around their city targeting gay and trans people on the streets of (NO, Louisiana)," she wrote.

The grainy clip shows the men driving around, muttering about how they want to "gun a punk down." Soon thereafter, they spot an assault happening on the street, which prompts them to roll down their windows and yell, "Shoot that b*tch!"

Later, a man holding a gun can be seen intimidating and then hitting a trans woman.

Once the video began to circulate online, popular trans Internet vlogger and reality TV star TS Madison Hinton went on Facebook Live to discuss the horrific clip and its implications for the LGBT community.

“I wanna tell you, we are living in perilous times now,” she stated. “This is to all my trans girls, this is also to all the...gay boys, effeminate men, men that identify as homosexual, bisexual, whatever.”

"We are living in perilous times and gay and trans people are the target."

A record 26 transgender people were reported murdered in 2016. Earlier this year, Mesha Caldwell of Canton, Mississippi became the first to be killed in 2017.

“This is the first homicide of a transgender person that NCAVP has responded to in 2017, during a time of heightened fear and increased violence against LGBTQ communities,” wrote the Anti-Violence Project. “As we continue to hear more reports of violence, we must remind ourselves that this violence is not normal and fight harder than ever to keep transgender people safe.”
