New York Museum Honors Miss Piggy With Feminist Icon Award

She's been conquering the world (and Kermit) for decades, and now Miss Piggy has garnered the accolades she deserves: the beloved Muppets diva is set to be honored with the Brooklyn Museum's Award for Outstanding Women.

The museum's Elizabeth Sackler Center for Feminist Art, which bestows the honor, is celebrating Piggy's "spirit, determination, and grit." She joins the ranks of previous award winners, such as Broadway'sJulie Taymor and former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

"Moi is thrilled," noted the porcine fashionista upon hearing the news.

The thrills don't stop there: Miss Piggy will be interviewed live at a public ceremony by feminist icon Gloria Steinem, a former recipient of the award herself.

Kermit will be in attendance for the ceremony as well—no doubt celebrating the upcoming Jim Henson exhibition at Astoria's Museum of the Moving Image—but something tells us that Piggy will forget all about her frog prince when those spotlights hit!
