Hurrah and mazel tov!!! New York State legalized gay marriage last night, just in time to assure that Pride weekend in NYC will be the most rollicking and empowering and wedding-gown-filled celebration in living memory!
As news got out at about 10pm last night, crowds began filling the streets surrounding the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, the site were the modern gay rights movement was born 42 years ago this weekend.
Now, who wants to get married??? I’m down. First, I just gotta find a husband. And a dress. I’m guessing I’ll see many a fluffy white gown (and bridesmaid frocks galore) prancing around NYC this weekend for inspiration.
Truly, truly… Happy Pride Everybody!
