Yaggo yo, peoples? - just to quote Miss Lily ... she's got new material for us! I probably love Lily Allen more for personality and her blog rants than for her actual Alright, Still... album, but I was still psyched to get some new music from her. Despite personal setbacks and new blond hair - god, if one more celebrity does this - Lily posted some new demos on her MySpace.
And they sound totally different! I think summertime, bouncy-with-an-edge when I think Lily, but these two songs are straight-up synth-pop. For "I Don't Know," Lily takes on a Hollywood persona of "everything's cool as long as I'm getting thinner," and since she's "packing plastic, her life is f*cking fantastic." But I actually prefer "I Could Say," which is dreamy and almost techno-y to me - and Lily sings about dropping her too-cool-for-school BF. But try 'em out yourself ... whaddya think of Lily's new sound?
And catch her full blog post and latest music video after the jump...

From their U.S. album Konk, listen to the Kooks' "Tick of Time" track. - Stereogum
Am I playing Mariah catch-up? I'm just hearing the E=MC2 track "That Chick" now (follow that link to hear it), but whether it's old news or not - I'm way in to it; I even prefer it to "Touch My Body." I'm totally walking up to a guy at a bar and saying, I got flava ... like ice cream.
E=MC2, Mariah's 11th album, comes out April 15. Of course, Mimi just strutted past Elvis on the Billboard charts with her 18th Number 1 single, "Touch My Body" ... which you can watch right here...
But I have to listen to "That Chick" again; I'm "gone for days!"
-snore- B, what happened? I'm totally disappointed. ... OK, judge for yourself: Listen to "Beautiful Nightmare" here. I read Beyonce's going in a different direction for her new album - supposedly a dance-ier sound courtesy of a collaboration with Freemasons - and I'll give her this track isn't R&B, but it's just not good enough for Beyonce.
We are at the leak phase, though; maybe she'll put out something fit for Rihanna or Kylie soon enough.
I was never an actual fan of 21-year-old R&B singer Cassie; I thought she was trying to be Ciara - who was trying to be Janet Jackson. But I loved that "Me & U" song from back in 2006 ... Yeah, that song was crazy-hot. I can only hope for another one like that from her one day ... I don't think "Thirsty" is it, but I still kinda dig it.
Hear "Thirsty" here via ONTD. I'm guessing this will be the lead single for her upcoming album - due May 20; other tracks will include "Push It" and "My House."
Now how about a trip back to that amazing song I was talking about...
I know ... it's a Spencer-Heidi double-hitter. Too early for this kind of pain? These The Hills stars are serious about the music biz, though: Spencer compared Heidi's music to Madonna's, so listen to "No More" via People and - um - see if he's right.
I'm not sure if singing credits go to the Vocoder or to Heidi herself, but I mean, with brilliant lyrics like these...
'I bet you want me back / But when I cry myself to sleep, where are you at?'
Now for your second dose, those geniuses over at Radar gave Spencer his own advice column called Yo Spencer! - and the first edition is up. It's everything I could have hoped for! I had to pick just one segment, but here goes...

Because Ryan Seacrest gets all the best premieres - wasn't he the first to bestow Heidi Montag's "Higher" on the world? - this morning On Air in L.A. premiered Rihanna's new song "Take a Bow." (Follow that link to hear it.) I didn't know this was coming; it's not on Good Girl Gone Bad...
I enjoy the line, "That was quite a show / Very entertaining," but the song is nothin' special. Also, Leona Lewis has a similar-sounding track with the same name. Is this Ri-Ri's next big thing? If you ask me, the fantastic "Don't Stop the Music" never got the label promotion it deserved, so I'm mad they're just moving on.

Eek! Is it really “out of context”? Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard apparently thinks Americans planned 9/11 to avoid the costs of rewiring the buildings. – Dlisted
It's finally here! The hype/concept was almost too much for my gay brain to handle: Madonna, Timbaland and Justin? One track? Well, "4 Minutes (to Save the World)" premiered on French radio - why there, I don't know - and you can listen to the leak if you follow that link.
But yeah, the hype...maybe I couldn't help but be disappointed. I like the brassy, horn-iness, but it feels a little noisy and over-produced; it doesn't have that Madonna-holy-sh*t factor that "Hung Up" had ... even though she is "tick-tocking" again. What do we think?
Tranny-licious Pussycat Doll Carmit Bachar, a.k.a. the best one, may be
quitting the group ... and the PCD sophomore album may be on hold. This

Whoever makes Kylie Minogue's decisions for her needs a replacement! The gay queen's amazing X album is finally coming to the U.S., and someone goes and picks the least Kylie-sounding track on the album as the lead single! And I don't have anything against "This Is Why I'm Hot" rapper, MIMS, but pairing these two together? I'm sure they've never even met each other.
Not that "All I See" is god-awful, but why couldn't Kylie just throw a wrench at us Americans and make our first single "Nu-di-ty"? 'Lemme, lemme see?' Well, anyway - you can hear the "All I See" remix featuring MIMS through that link via Sweet Escape.
And catch Kylie's performance of "Wow" at the BRITS after the jump...

Even though the man tried to shut down M.I.A.'s contentious - and amazing - "Paper Planes" song, we haven't heard the last of it. Beastie Boys' Adrock is behind this version "for the children," which appears on M.I.A.'s Paper Planes (Homeland Security Remixes) EP.
The "Paper Planes" remix, hear it via Stereogum, has the gunshot sounds - which caused all the fuss - intact but is pretty different from the original: It's a little more hushed, a little more ominous ... and Adrock plays with the gunshots-as-music in his own way - which is totally cool.
More on the EP after the jump...

Yikes! Mariah got kind of scary; I believe she'll hunt me down. "Touch My Body" is the first single from her upcoming album, E=MC2. (Follow that link to hear it.) The track has the goods, Mariah and the "Umbrella" producer are at work, but I don't think I'm feelin' it.
I guess she's being cheeky along with being sexy - but she doesn't really nail either one. I wanted more from Mariah...
I've been waiting for this to come out, and now they have to tease me! Well, you've still got to listen to the 17-second clip of Madonna and Justin Timberlake's upcoming collaboration called "4 Seconds to Save the World." (Follow that link to hear it.)
And I don't understand the title either; these celebrities think a little too highly of themselves. The song sounds like it has potential though...?
R.E.M.'s 14th studio album, Accelerate, is due April 1, but Stereogum has got the band's first single, "Supernatural Super Serious," at this very moment; and I think the song has everything an R.E.M. fan could want. There's also a brief promo video. Cheer up, Stipe-y!
In the song, Michael Stipe sings about celebration, humiliation and seances ... everybody here comes from somewhere? ... and Mike Mill's backup vocals are totally great. Follow that last link to hear it!
Well, she sort of can; this isn't an official remix. It's also one of the more after-the-fact remixes I've ever heard; it reeks of Ciara just wishing the ridiculously-good Janet Jackson track was hers. Listen to the Janet Jackson "Feedback" remix featuring Ciara via The Sweet Escape.
Ciara really sticks her head up in this one, too; she even changes the admittedly odd line "somethin' heavy like a first-day period" to "no questions, period."
I didn't even know there was a Pete Doherty gay sex-tape rumor; apparently he only kissed Peter Wolfe for a photo shoot. - Towleroad
Huh? Kylie Minogue’s “Wow” video didn’t air as scheduled because it failed to meet “guidelines on strobe lighting” and Kylie pole-danced with aliens. Well, that second part is very true. ... - NME
The new Heidi Montag single “Higher” makes me miss Spencer's rapping! Wait for the bridge; that’s when it gets straight-up hilarious. – Usmagazine.com

Sarah Silverman surprised boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel with a special music video: Guess what? “She’s f*cking Matt Damon!” – Just Jared
And the teasing begins! Janet Jackson's new album won't hit stores until Feb. 26, but her Web site just posted two new Discipline tracks: "Rock With U" and "Luv." Once you go to the site, click on LAUNCH JUKEBOX at the very top to hear 'em.
I interviewed Janet for Discipline, although we haven't run the story yet, and she revealed she picked out "Rock With U" especially for the gays! I can see why she did - that beat will have a happy home on the dancefloors - but I actually like "Luv," the album's first track, even more.

Both M.I.A. and Of Montreal's Kevin Barnes are straight - yup - but they have the gay followings without a doubt ... or maybe they just transcend. They're amazing - so when Pitchfork posted an Of Montreal cover of M.I.A.'s Bollywood-tastic "Jimmy" track, I was more that curious. ...
Listen to the cover after the jump - it's definitely worth it!

Mmm - I've been craving more British electro-pop, so I was happy to hear the title track from indie quartet Hot Chip's upcoming album, Made in the Dark, was out and ready for listening. It's actually a ballad, though, and I'm not that crazy about it; but you be the judge: listen to "Made in the "Dark" (via Stereogum).
I do enjoy Hot Chip's other new track, "Ready For the Floor;" if you haven't seen its Batman-themed music video, better catch up and watch after the jump.

Danity Kane is just so gosh-darned hilarious; I don't care that they can't sing. Come on, Aubrey O'Day? That sh*t's just funny. And yes, those girls from Diddy's Making the Band, shockingly enough, got someone to fund another DK album.
You can listen to two of their new songs, "Damaged" and "Pretty Boy," both of which are godawful - and this is coming from a gay who actually liked "Show Stopper." There's an option to vote for which of the two will become their next single as well. Desperate!
I'm wasn't psyched for/didn't know about Step Up 2 - The Streets, but I've been waiting for something new from Missy Elliott for what feels like forever!
Missy announced the new track today, and it'll be on the Step Up soundtrack, as well as on her upcoming album. Listen to "Ching-A-Ling" here!
Catch more info on Missy Elliott's new CD after the jump!

I discovered Goldfrapp thanks to that fierce "Ooh La La" number from the cell phone commercials; but the British, electro duo has certainly switched it up for their new song, "A&E." Goldfrapp started streaming the new single for the upcoming album, Seventh Tree, on Friday - so take a listen.
Check after the jump for more info on Seventh Tree - as well as the recently-revealed cover art!

Britney Spears was her usual dazed, probably-smelly self for her "Piece of Me" music video; sad 'cause that song is great. Well, Rizzo Rough (whoever that may be) remixed the Blackout track, and the result's totally fun. Perfect dance-floor fare, Rizzo; gay bars of the world thank you.
And the video's awesome, because you can't see what Britney looks like or what she's doing! Kind of like you're in a dark crowded club, not quite sure what someone you're interested in looks like, and just assuming the best!
Catch it after the jump!
Continue reading "Watch Britney Spears "Piece of Me Remix" Video Here - It's the Rizzo Rough Mix!" »
Oh, god - these two again. I embrace my love for tween-pop, I do, but I kind of hate that I love Aly & AJ's music. Oh, well - the second single from their album, Insomniatic [sic], is called "Like Whoa" (follow that link to hear it), and even though it's not about their asses - don't worry, Mya - it's pretty darn good.
The song definitely has that same style as the lead single, "Potential Breakup Song," did, but ain't nothin' wrong with that! The girls shot the video for the single earlier this month...although I hope it doesn't involve them on an actual roller coaster. I do not need to see that. Please keep your hands and feet in the ride at all times!
"Nothing sweeter than her Puakenikeni!" A Puakenikeni is a Hawaiian flower...Damn, Nicole - now we know how you get down!
Former lead Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger keeps pushing back her debut solo album, Her Name Is Nicole, because her singles haven't been popular enough. I actually liked "Whatever U Like," but it didn't work the radios.
Third time around then? Nicole fans voted through her Web site for "Puakenikeni" (follow that link to hear it) as the album's third. It's pretty good...but nothing like her work with The PCDs. Just go crawling back, Nicole; you were totally the Beyonce of the group anyway.
P.S. I don't think this rumored Destiny's Child Reunion Number 2 is Beyonce's idea...
You know the gays lived and died for "Lip Gloss" this year, but Lil Mama's not done yet! Her next single (from her Voice of the Young People album) will be "Shawty, Get Loose" ft. T-Pain.
I'm liking this much more than Mama's previous release, "G-Slide," and I'm excited like no other for the video! Say it won't be long, Mama!
It's that time again: Another sexified, hip-hop-dance track from Miss Janet Jackson herself! This one's called "Feedback" (follow that link to hear the full song), and it's the lead single from Janet's upcoming album, due in February.
Oh, and I'm way into it. Initial thoughts?
- It's hot and totally dance-able.
- It sounds nothing like her - but who cares?
- There are some funny analogies in this one..."I'm flyer than a pelican?" And, my personal favorite, "I'm heavy like a first-day period."
The song's fierce, but not a sexy image, Janet!
Wait a minute - didn't this already happen? Ashlee Simpson's upcoming album feels so not-legit. Wasn't "Murder" going to be her new single? Why did everyone forget about that?
Well, life goes on I guess (and I'm asking far too many questions about this subject), 'cause Miss Ashlee's got another one for us: This track is called, "Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)," and Timbaland produced it. (His credit is always a plus in my mind, but honestly, can he take a break for one second?)
AOL has got it for now, so you'll have to listen to an occasional voiceover interruption (mainly Ashlee thanking you for listening and saying, "holla" and "peace out").
Catch some more info on Ashlee's new album...after the jump.
