Tan France Trades the Everyday for the Runway in “Next in Fashion” Trailer

The new Netflix series sees talented fashion designers compete for a $250,000 prize.

Queer Eye style guru Tan France can now add “series co-host” to his résumé.

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for Next in Fashion, its forthcoming reality television series that sees accomplished fashion designers compete for a generous cash prize. The 10-episode show is co-hosted by France, the Fab Five’s resident sartorial expert, and Alexa Chung, the beloved British model-turned-fashion designer.

Taking cues from Bravo’s long-running fashion design competition Project Runway, the designers will “face challenges centering on a different trend or design style that has influenced the way the entire world dresses,” according to a press release, as they compete to win $250,000 and the opportunity to debut a collection with luxury fashion retailer Net-a-Porter.

It’s not the first time France has taken his talents beyond Queer Eye. He’s one of 20 celebrities who will compete on 2020’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer, meaning he’ll bring himself (and his famous French tuck) to the charitable GBBO tent later this year.

He’s also made over several notables like Hasan Minhaj and John Mulaney for Netflix’s YouTube channel.

We’ll have to wait until January 29 to binge Next in Fashion on Netflix. Until then, check out the show’s official trailer for a taste of what’s to come—and for a sneak peek at France and Chung’s hilarious banter. We can only hope for Project Runway levels of shade, too.
