Nick Jonas has been named as the headliner for Pittsburgh Pride’s Pride in the Street Festival this weekend, replacing Iggy Azalea, who backed out after complaints about old tweets some perceived as homophobic.
According to organizers, Jonas called up to offer his services.
“When I heard about the difficult position Pittsburgh Pride was in just days before their event, I knew I had to find a way to help,” Jonas said in a statement.
“I’m excited to do what I can to support the LGBT community in Pittsburgh, and I look forward to seeing you this Saturday as we celebrate together.”
Jonas has been a vocal ally, even telling NewNowNext he wished he and his brothers had done more to support the gay community when they were together. “I really want to make an effort to embrace the community with open arms,” he said.
If you’re lucky enough to be in Pittsburgh on Saturday, you can get tickets to see Nick Jonas here.
