Nicola Formichetti Gives Sea Nymph Fantasy In First Issue Of "King Kong" Magazine

The 430-page debut issue is a real fashion explosion.

Nicola Formichetti, the famed Diesel artistic director noted for his close creative relationship with Lady Gaga, teams up with photographer Mariano Vivanco for a seaside editorial series inspired by the Greek myth of Scylla in the debut issue of King Kong magazine, a new Berlin and London-based 'zine that prides itself on being completely independent.

The oceanic series, one of many featured in the 430+ page debut issue, features models Cierra Skye, Sahara Lin, Aaron Bailey Broussard, Mark MacEachen, Kevin Thompson, and Charlie muse Trevor Signorino, all stripped down to the bare minimum in front of different colored backgrounds.

The magazine is dedicated to "pushing the boundaries of art and fashion," and according to Dazed, its creators "gave only one direction to its contributors: that there was no direction. Instead of working to a set of rules or restrictions, the photographers, stylists and artists recruited were free to go wherever they chose."

This issue, now available at magazine retailers worldwide, also features actress Catherine Deneuve, artist India Menuez, and queer rapper Brooke Candy each gracing one of four different covers.
