Want To Stop Nigeria's "Jail The Gays" Bill From Becoming Law? Here's What You Can Do

Last month Nigeria’s House of Representatives passed a bill that criminalizes gay relationships in the country, with laws that could potentially put a same-sex couple in jail for up to 14 years for even holding hands. It has now been passed on to President Goodluck Jonathan to be signed into law, a scary proposition that international LGBT rights group All Out is trying to prevent.

Watch above in this week's "NewNowNext Minute" as Ryan Brockington breaks down Nigeria's "Jail the Gays" bill, the ramifications this bill will have in Nigeria and around the globe, and what you can do to help.

The first thing you can, and should, do? Head to All Out's website and sign the petition to stop the bill from being signed into law.

All Out is currently working closely with partner organizations in Nigeria to try and make sure this bill will not be signed by the country's President.
