Anyone lucky enough to have caught Venus In Fur on Broadway, or when it was at the Classic Stage Company in 2010, has no doubt been blown away by the amazing Nina Arianda. Poised to win the Tony this evening for her starring role in Fur (Update: she won), a role that sees the actress playing Vanda, a woman who goes from foul-mouthed struggling actress to an actual deity, Arianda is someone who seems destined to be much, much more — a Hollywood star.
Growing up in New Jersey and Germany, the actress received a MFA from NYU and no sooner did she graduate than the now 27-year-old found herself starring in Fur. From there she has done roles in films like Midnight In Paris and Win Win and earned her first Tony nom last year for Born Yesterday, but this year she seems destined to take home gold.
Watch a clip of her above and get ready for the next great American actress.
