Noah Galvin Shares Workout Secrets For Surviving “Dear Evan Hansen”

"It’s all about stamina," says the out actor.

Ever wanted to wave through a window at Noah Galvin doing squats?

Playbill has launched its new video series, “BwayFit,” with the star of Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen. Joined by hunky trainer Anthony Crouchelli, the out actor demonstrates how he stays in shape so he can get through eight shows a week.

“It’s all about stamina,” says Galvin, 23, who reveals he’s an expert jump-roper thanks to a childhood gig with Cirque du Soleil. He previously appeared on MTV’s TRL, where he said he’s had to cut out dairy, gluten, and alcohol from his diet.

Best known for his lead role as a gay teen in ABC’s The Real O’Neals, Galvin made his Broadway debut in Dear Evan Hansen November 21 at the Music Box Theatre, succeeding Tony-winning original star Ben Platt. Galvin plays Evan, who finds unexpected purpose and social media stardom after a high school classmate’s suicide.

Galvin will play his final performance February 4, after which out actor Taylor Trensch, currently appearing in the Tony-winning revival of Hello, Dolly!, will take over.

In addition to Platt’s win for Best Actor in a Musical, Dear Evan Hansen took home five more 2016 Tonys, including Best Musical and Best Original Score for Oscar-winning songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
