The wife of Orlando shooter Omar Mateen has been arrested in connection to his horrific anti-LGBT attack at Pulse nightclub.
FBI agents took Noor Salman into custody at her home near San Francisco Monday. A source claims that Salman was charged with obstruction of justice and aiding and abetting by providing material support.
On June 12, 2016, Omar Mateen entered Pulse nightclub in Orlando and killed 49 people in the deadliest mass shooting in American history.
Authorities questioned Salman for hours after the attack and concluded that she knew more about Mateen’s intent than she was letting on. Reports surfaced that officials wanted to charge her for failing to disclose her husband’s plans.
However, she remained free up until this week, moving from Florida to several locations throughout her native California. She even gave an interview to the New York Times this November saying she was “unaware” of her husband’s intentions.
“I don’t condone what he has done. I am very sorry for what has happened. He has hurt a lot of people,” she said.
She is expected to make her first appearance in federal court Tuesday.
