North Carolina Gay Men's Chorus Performs Random Acts Of Kindness

"We're just out spreading a little bit of happiness and joy."

The Gay Men's Chorus of Charlotte issued some much-needed feels around the Southpark Mall in North Carolina on Saturday, showering random shoppers with song to brighten up the mood after a rough week for the country.

"It's been a bad couple of weeks," John Quillin, director of the chorus, told People.

"We're just out spreading a little bit of happiness and joy."

In video taken from inside the mall, the group clad in matching black polos are seen serenading two women as they rest on a pair of chairs in the midway.

"It was so nice, I almost cried," Clarise Baker said after the men sang Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are" for her and her friend. "It was just beautiful."

"It made me feel warm," said Clarise's friend, Naomi Chi. "I kept on smiling. It just made me smile and one smile makes everyone's day better."

Quillin added: "That's exactly what it's all about."

The group were reportedly taking part in the #KINDNESSMatters challenge, a social media call-to-action for "people to perform acts of kindness, document them and challenge others to do the same."

"The whole day was just a blast," said Quillin.

"Song pulls people in, which is why we sing. Can music stop a bullet? I don't know, but it can bring us all together."
