A Norwegian soccer star is facing backlash this week after celebrating his team's Norwegian Cup win by stripping naked and sticking his genitals inside the trophy.

Aleksander Melgalvis Andreassen helped his Lillestrom teammates win the Cup for the first time in 10 years over the weekend, and celebrated the occasion by taking off all his clothes during the victory parade and using the trophy to cover his manhood.

The 28-year-old is now being accused of insulting Norway's royal family with his naked antics.

“Winning the Cup is a big thing and obviously it should be celebrated," said Norwegian FA spokesman Yngve Haavik in a statement. "But it is very possible to do so in a manner that shows the Cup a bit more respect."

Andreassen acknowledged that people were upset, but said he ultimately doesn't regret what he did, adding that he "received a lot of positive feedback about it, and it was fun."

“I can understand [that some people didn’t like it]. Should I apologize to the king?" he said, according to The Telegraph. "Well, I was very privileged to say hello to the king yesterday so maybe I should apologize today."
