Ok, so spring is about to, well, spring, and that means that your moneymaker has to be in tip-top shape. Like the rose buried under the snow, you gotta shake off the dull winter nastiness and prepare the way for a  blossoming new glowing face underneath (Can I get an "amen" from the choir?)!

This little five-part series will help you get ready to show off the best skin of your life this spring. We'll start with step one, which is to cleanse. I understand you do this anyway (you're not an ANIMAL), but let's talk about using cleansers that will help reset the pH balance of your face, remove impurities and basically prepare you to unleash your glow on the world. Here are my recommendations from petty cash to pure investment:

ATM-friendly: Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser (about $10) - This is the gold standard for a reason. This gentle cleanser is the skincare equivalent of a juice cleanse and can help you reset your skin back to a normal moisture balance while removing impurities. It's great for even sensitive skin types, comes in a formula for normal to oily skin and should basically live under your sink.

Credit Card: Kiehl's Since 1851 Ultra Facial Cleanser and Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser (both $18) - Both of these cleansers are created to restore the pH balance to skin, deliver amazing mild cleansing (they both even get rid of serious dirt and makeup) and are formulated to help even the most sensitive skin. Use the regular formula for normal-to-dry skin, the oil-free option if you have oily skin.

Platinum Card: Perricone MD Hypoallergenic Facial Cleanser($39) - Take it from the good doctor who perfected the prescription for all things fabulous skin: this is just what he orders for a great basic daily cleanser that's gentle enough for sensitive skin but effective enough to remove what winter ails have settled in. Complete with olive polyphenols for gentle hydration, it's mild enough to use post-cosmetic procedures yet effective enough to remove dirt and impurities.

Cleanse that face, dolls! I'll be back shortly to talk about step two, which is to exfoliate.
