Now You Can Take a Peachy New "Call Me by Your Name" Tour of Italy
For anyone who has watched Call Me by Your Name and wished he could experience the passion and romance of Elio and Oliver's summer in Italy, your prayers have been answered. Quiiky Tours, the first Italian company to specialize in LGBT-themed travel, has announced a new guided tour inspired by last year's Oscar-winning drama.
Call Me by Your Name follows the burgeoning relationship between 17-year-old Elio (played by Timothée Chalamet) and Oliver, a 24-year-old graduate student (played by Armie Hammer) staying with his family for the summer in Italy. Fans of the film eager who are eager to follow in its characters footsteps will spend eight days exploring many of the film's real-life backdrops with stops in Milan, Crema, Garda Lake, Verona, Venice, and Bergamo.
Prices for the tour start at $2,500 per person, based on double occupancy, and include accommodations, car rental for the driving portion of the itinerary, and guided tours of Milan, Crema, Verona, and Venice. Itinerary highlights include a visit to Duomo Square (photo above) in Crema—one of the film's primary settings—to sit at the same bar table Elio and Oliver share in one scene, bicycle tours through the provinces of Crema and Lodi, a stop at the Catullus Caves (photo below) and a sojourn to Bergamo, where the characters danced to the Psychadelic Furs hit, “Love my Way."
No word, however, on whether peaches will be made available at any of the stops.
