New York City Gay Men’s Chorus is going extra big for the upcoming 10th anniversary installment of its annual Big Gay Sing sing-along concert.
“After 10 crowd-pleasing, dancing in the aisles, audience-belting Big Gay Sings,” says NYCGMC artistic director Charlie Beale in a statement, “it’s time to celebrate with our favorite hits from past shows along with some new material that is topping the charts as we speak.”
Big Gay Sing X will help welcome spring with beloved throwbacks including “Edge of Glory,” “Proud Mary,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Tonight (Quintet)” from West Side Story, and a medley of RuPaul’s greatest hits.
This year’s program will also include new arrangements of showstoppers like Kesha’s “Rainbow,” the Oscar-nominated “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman, and the empowering anthem “You Will Be Found” from Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen.
“With a reputation to uphold as the creators of Big Gay Sing that has been franchised around the world, we will be serving up the biggest of the big, the gayest of the gay sing-along extravaganza you will ever experience, complete with outrageous drag queens, iconic gay anthems, and over-the-top performances,” Beale adds.
Big Gay Sing X runs March 9–11 at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in New York.
