Nyle DiMarco Is Headed To Broadway
Nyle DiMarco is about to become a Broadway baby.
Entertainment Tonight has announced that the Dancing With the Stars hunk is bringing a revival of Children of a Lesser God to Broadway this spring.
Sadly, DiMarco will not be in the show, just a producer behind the scenes. The revival will star Joshua Jackson and Lauren Ridloff.
“We are so grateful to have Nyle as a producer on this play,” said fellow producer Hal Luftig. “He will have an integral role in the creative process and production of Children of a Lesser God, offering a fresh perspective in the room and valuable input in the process.”
The play is about a new teacher at a a New England school for the deaf who falls in love with a young deaf woman who is working as a janitor at the school. Children of a Lesser God first premiered on Broadway in 1980, closing in 1982. In 1986 it was adapted into a film starring William Hurt and Marlee Matlin, who went onto win the Best Actress Oscar for her role.
“I am so thrilled to join this talented group of producers on a project that is incredibly important and personal to me. The opportunity to be involved in the creative process of such a spectacular Broadway show is a challenge I am excited to conquer,” said DiMarco.
The Broadway revival of Children of a Lesser God is scheduled to begin previews on March 22 at Studio 54, with opening night on April 11.
