Octavia Spencer is an amazing actress, but does she have the chops to sniff out killers in Cabot Cove? The Help star is attached to NBC's reboot of Murder, She Wrote with Spencer stepping into the role of Jessica Fletcher, made famous by Angela Lansbury.

The original CBS series was hugely popular, running for 12 season from 1984-1996 and attracting more than 23 million viewers a week at its height. Produced by David Janollari (Six Feet Under) and written by Desperate Housewives executive producer Alexandra Cunningham, NBC's remake sees Spencer playing a hospital administrator and amateur sleuth who self-publishes her first murder mystery novel.

This could either be amazing or very, very wrong.

By the way, did you know Angela Lansbury has never won an Academy Award? The Manchurian Candidate star has been nominated three times but will get her first Oscar in November, when the Academy issues her a special honorary award, along with Angelina Jolie and Steve Martin. The event won't be televised though—Angie can't seem to catch a break!

Below, Angela Lansbury discusses the original Murder, She Wrote.
