Offices Of Escort Site Rentboy.com Raided, CEO And Six Employees Arrested

"Rentboy.com attempted to present a veneer of legality, when in fact [it] made millions of dollars from the promotion of illegal prostitution."

Apparently, someone just figured out Rentboy.com is not a site devoted to finding apartments for young men: The New York offices of the infamous escort site were raided this morning as part of a major prostitution sting.

Rentboy.com CEO Jeffrey Hurant and six employees were taken into custody, as documents and computers were seized and millions of dollars in personal and business funds were frozen.

The company bills itself as the world's largest male escort service, receiving 500,000 unique visitors a day, who pore through a directory of some 10,500 escorts across more than 2,100 cities worldwide. (The company's tagline is "Money can't buy you love … but the rest is negotiable.")

"As alleged, Rentboy.com attempted to present a veneer of legality, when in fact this internet brothel made millions of dollars from the promotion of illegal prostitution," said acting U.S. Attorney Kelly Currie.

It's been alleged that the raid was prompted by the site's recent launching of a $1,500 scholarship program designed to help escorts afford college.
