Pictures from Lady GaGa's The Fame Premiere Party in NYC
All photos courtesy of Robin Roemer
Doin' it for The Fame! I bring you another Lady GaGa update, gays: In honor of her record release, The Haus of GaGa - Lady GaGa's official blog and out-there, creative side project, if I can call it that - hosted a release party, concert and signing ... and boy were those gays excited!
Please enjoy all of these photos: you'll get a real sense of the hot tranny mess that is a Lady GaGa concert.
More pictures - including GaGa's ultra-gay openers - after the jump...
Noah's Arc: Jumping The Broom, The L.A. Premiere Party Pictures!
The gang's all here: At the official Hollywood premiere of Noah's Arc: Jumping The Broom, the spiffed-up cast worked the carpets, savored their big screen debuts and, of course, after-partied it up! I included up top my personal favorites, Wade and Baby Gat (well, Jensen Atwood and Jason Steed, really), but be sure to check out the rest of the Arc cast after the jump...
By now the secret's out about the Scissor Sister's unannounced concerts in New York city this week. (Click here for our blog coverage of Monday's show - why hello, Anderson Cooper! - when the SS went as "Queef Latina.")
And now we have some lovely photos of Jake Shears and Ana Matronic rocking out and sweating up the stage - this time as "Debbie's Hairy" - Tuesday night at Mercury. Looks like quite a show, kiddies!
Blake Lively serves up some sexy shoulder at the Miss Sixty show.
All this week and into this weekend, Fashion Week rages on! Why just this morning, this season's Project Runway kids will be showing off their looks hoping to score the grand prize. But NYC's Bryant Park has been a media zoo for days, with tents crammed with celebs, editors, fashionistas, paparazzi and wannabe glamazons--and every other sort--all jockeying to get a glimpse of what's hot and be HBIC.
In the midst of all this is photographer Jeremy Kost, who's made a name for himself by hitting Manhattan's hotspots 24/7 armed with his trusty Polaroid. He shoots, he scores!
Here's a fun photo album (a zillion pics after the jump) of some of the snaps Kost has nabbed over the last several days. His subjects are A-list, and the results are way fun. Say cheese, beeyotches!
It's a lot to take in, I know, but let's see what we've got here: The Pussycat Dolls are taking over the planet - the monuments in the back, the city names in the front ... I got it, right? - but doesn't it look like the planet according to Broderbund Software? The crew really should have used more of that Photoshop budget on the background and less on Nicole Scherzinger's face. Come on - is it necessary to make someone as ridiculously-pretty as Nicole look completely different?
OK, OK - I kind of dig the letter on each motorcycle (Kimberly, Jessica, Nicole, Melody, Ashley) and, of course, the three on the left - especially my girl Jessica - for looking particularly drag-tastic.
How about a little trip down memory lane with the group's debut album cover? They looked so innocent back in the PCD days (minus that Carmit, who we don't speak of...)
Teen Choice Awards Pictures: Kim Kardashian Is Scaring Me...
Maybe I'm being mean - especially since I think Kim is actually really pretty - but there's something major-ly wrong with this picture. I want to Photoshop a butcher knife in KK's hand...
Well, anyway! The 10th annual Teen Choice Awards aired Monday, and, if you care, here's the list of Teen Choice Awards winners: Other than Jessica Alba winning for her performance in The Eye, the results were pretty much what you'd expect, i.e. lots and lots of Miley and those Jonas "virgins." And I'm not going to make a joke about why Vanessa Hudgens won Choice Female Hottie...
Aack! Kim is still upsetting me!
Whew - that's better. A little Josh Duhamel fixes everything - minus that he's married to...
Kiss. My. Fat. Ass! So I picked out the two gayest pictures possible at Friday's Daytime Emmys Awards - and there was plenty to wade through in that plastic surgery fest ... we are talking soap stars, here.
What I would have given to hear Tyra's acceptance speech for Best Informative Talk Show ... about the unbelievably groundbreaking and influential phenomenon that is Tyra - how she's finally getting a little recognition in her life! I have never in my life yelled at a girl like this!
And, no surprise, the lovely Ellen took home her - 50th? - Emmy for Best Talk Show Host, which she deserves. And now for more pictures - and Tyra craziness! - after the jump...
Yes, apparently. So Becks came to San Francisco for the unveiling of his new and enormous Macy's Armani ad ... I guess they're going to keep rolling out that photo shoot until we can't take it anymore.
Wait. Why am I hating on a hot guy posing in his underwear?
See the full ad in all its penises-aren't-shaped-like-that glory after the jump...
I know, I'm focusing on the shallow ... I love these celebrities for going to an amFAR event, but I'm so distracted by these weird-ass outfits. I mean, Natalie? You usually get it right, but this thing looks like one of those paper snow flake from 1st grade.
The Good, The Bad and The Inappropriate from amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS 2008 benefit at Cannes ... after the jump.
Madonna & Sharon Stone Can Stop Basking Any Time Now
Kidding ... Madonna's dress was completely amazing at the Cannes premiere of her Malawi documentary I Am Because We Are, even though she kind of looks like Mama Olsen.
And no Sheeeee's 50! jokes...
And isn't this picture kind of scary? More pap craziness with Madge and Guy after the jump...
Madonna Does Vanity Fair Cover - Plus New Hard Candy Teaser!
Madonna's got the whole planet in her hands now ... and she's rubbing her booty up on it! Damn, I still love her! I'm sure this isn't true, but she doesn't even look that outrageously Photoshop-ed to me ... hotness.
Madge apparently worked with Steven Meisel, the photographer behind her sex book - remember that? - for her upcoming VF spread.
And I know I complained about the Hard Candy cover art, but I actually think this teaser commercial for the album is totally brilliant and racy! ...
Oh, Snap! GLAAD Media Awards in NYC Red Carpet Pictures!
This past week, West Coast-ers played host for the HRC Gala, but last night, not to be outdone, New York welcomed its own wonderfully pro-gay event: the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards - one of them, anyway. And it was a pretty ... attractive evening, judging from these red carpet photos.
Here we have Law & Order's Mariska Hargitay and Xanadu on Broadway's Cheyenne Jackson. I hope Mariska is asking if she can touch Cheyenne's rippling thighs. I mean, that's what I would do ifIever met him...
Martinis, y'all! As The World Turns' continually-stifled gay couple Van Hansis and Jake Silberman chill out with ... who? Tala Ashe? ...some other girl on the show, it would seem.
More gay pictures from the carpet after the jump...
Oh, Snap! Gay Celebrities Come Out for HRC Gala in L.A.!
The Human Rights Campaign Gala in Los Angeles played host to lovely gay and gay-loving celebrities Saturday - including Anne Hathaway, here with HRC president, Joe Solmonese. As if The Devil Wears Prada and her open love for her gay brother didn't give Anne enough gay cred - check out Queerty's interview with Anne Hathaway. She comments on that hateful Sally Kern and her first exposure to anti-gay sentiments...
"...around middle school, when people start throwing around things like 'Gay,' or 'You’re so gay' or 'You’re a faggot.' And I remember not
understanding what they were trying to say by that and being weirded
out by people who would say things like that. I would always speak up
and people would usually tell me to 'lighten up,' but I still don’t
think that’s the right attitude to take.
And what's this? Nia Vardalos from My Big Fat Greek Wedding? Wonderful! And lesbian Top Chef Cat Cora ... I loved her back in her Melting Pot Food Network days. What a night!
The always gay-friendly actress - she did many movies with late, gay director Derek Jarman - spoke with the mag (before her Oscar win) for its April transgender issue. She said although she values much about her upbringing...
"I had to make a departure very, very early, and maybe that's the real key to why I feel very much at home in the gay community."
Yup! Candis Cayne also graced the pages of OUT's special trans issue...Check after the jump for morepictures of Candis ... and of Tilda!
I read this morning In Bruges actorColin Farrell struck out with a model at Rose Bar in NYC ... tragic! Don't do that to my Colin! Well, at least there's his new spread in GQ. Yeah, Colin kind of has that Lindsay Lohan thing - naturally very hot, but I'd definitely make him shower and brush his teeth first ... and then smother himself in honey.
Colin spoke to GQ about his role in In Bruges and his rough times pre-rehab. And you probably know this, but the Irishman is gay-friendly: He played a bisexual guy in A Home at the End of the World, and he's going to be the best man at his gay brother's wedding!
Oh, Snap! Shockwaves NME Awards 2008 Pictures and Winners
NME held its annual Shockwaves awards show Thursday - complete with the middle-finger statuettes - and Arctic Monkeys pretty much cleaned up, beating out Babyshambles, The Cribs, Klaxons and Muse for Best British Band. The little guys also took Best Track for "Fluorescent Adolescent" and Best Video for "Teddy Picker."
Pictures of gays and Brits gays love at the awards - along with the rest of the winners - after the jump!
Well, OK - this just made my morning. I had no idea the Gossip Girl boys let OUT mag turn them into complete eye-candy for the gays. I kind of have a thing for the not-cute one, Ed Westwick (left); although Chace Crawford (center) lookin' all brooding is hard to resist - damn, Carrie Underwood! - and of course the hotness that is Penn Badgley (right) speaks for itself.
Penn even told E! Online he'd like it if The CW made his character, Dan Humphrey, gay, as he is in the Gossip Girl novels. What a man! ... Oh, wait - he's like 19...
Plenty more hotness from the OUT spread after the jump!
Oh, Snap! Javier Bardem and Charlize Theron Go Hitchcock For Vanity Fair!
The new issue of Vanity Fair will feature a totally-cool spread called "Hollywood Portfolio: Hitchcock Classics," for which contemporary movie stars recreate old Hitchcock movie posters. Of course, Charlize Theron and Javier Bardem are my faves in Dial M for Murder and Rear Window, respectively; and Naomi Watts wuuurks as Tippi Hedren in Marnie.
Scarlett Johansson snuck in with Javier somehow; and Scar-Jo's been getting awfully close with that man-hunk lately: She, Javier and Javier's lucky-ass girlfriend, Penelope Cruz, will have an "extremely erotic" threesome in the Woody Allen movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Oh, my! Private viewing?
Oh, Snap!: More Fashion Week Pictures! It's The Diesel Show!
Diesel designers went all dystopian future on us for their new line - or The Apocalypse? Jillian would love it! - which they presented as part of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York. I'm feeling it, though: It's all dark and grungy and hot; although the models look even more one-foot-in-the-grave than they usually do! That's the theme, though?
Check out some runway pictures - as well as two noteworthy celebrities - after the jump!
Oh, Snap! Kylie Minogue's New Furniture Line Launches!
Kylie Minogue is a money-making machine - keep at it, girl! "Kylie at Home?" Is she kidding? Supposedly, her line involves loads of "sparkle, faux silk, sequins and rhinestones." Of course it does.
Can I have that projection above my bed too and be the gayest person on the planet? I'd do it! Any guy who had a problem with it wouldn't get me ... and then I would know.
More pictures of Kylie fierceness at her London launchafter the jump ...
Oh, Snap! New York Fashion Week Pictures: Runways and Celebrities!
As all you gays must know - Super Bowl, huh? - New York Fashion Week is in full-swing at this very moment! And with so many cool pictures on Getty, how about a quick photo roundup for those of us who can't go?
I collected a few shots of celebs around Bryant Park, as well as (subscription-included!) runway pictures I found majorly fierce! To give you an idea, I was a big fan of Diane Von Furstenberg and Herve Leger.
Oh, Snap! Kevin Zegers in Vanity Fair Italy Is a Hot Piece!
I dig Kevin Zegers' look; he's like Jared Leto but actually attractive. ... In case you don't know who Kevin is - not that this picture doesn't have merit in itself - he played Felicity Huffman's hustler son Toby in Transamerica. Kevin also appeared on the cover of OUT magazine in '06.
This spread is from the January issue of Italian Vanity Fair - but yeah, I don't really need to know what he was in there for - maybe The Jane Austen Book Club?
Check after the jump for more pictures of Kevin...
Oh, Snap! Amy Winehouse Inspires French Vogue and Italian Designer
Well, models have no problem replicating Amy Winehouse's skeletal hands and knees - not to mention the smoking - right? I actually saw these pictures from a spread in French Vogue via Ohnotheydidnt a little while back, but then I found another picture from Italian designer Frankie Morrello with a similar Amy Winehouse-esque model!
Is the Wino look a trend? Red bras, beehive hair and - uh - disorientation? I guess Michael Kors isn't the only designer who likes her style!
See the Morrello picture after the jump...along with the rest of the Vogue spread...
Oh, Snap! Kelly Rowland at G-A-Y in Peacock Lingerie!
Kelly Rowland may have shown the gays a little more than they wanted to see Saturday night at London's G-A-Y. It's true everyone's performing there these days ... guess she wanted to be memorable.
But if I may quote an old Destiny's Child song..."Don't walk out yo' heezy without clothes on!"
These Dolce & Gabbana ads are almost cruel, really ... Ah, but they are always my favorites. These lovely pretty-boy pictures come from the Dolce & Gabbana SS08 Lookbook. ... Disappointed? There's more where this came from; and, thankfully, most of the boys take off their pants.
Oh, Snap! It's the America's Next Top Model Cycle 10 Girls!
Ooh, I'm feeling this gender-bending theme for the America's Next Top Model Cycle 10 promo photo. Well, kind of gender-bending, anyway; that one on the far left looks like a total drag queen. I love it!
Yes, ANTM has become a complete joke, but I still watch it; I think it's the sound of Tyra's voice or something. The gay in me just answers her call. ... Anyway, Season 10 premieres February 10, and I will say, it'll have two big improvements: It's in New York instead of L.A., and they got rid of Twiggy! (Paulina Porizkova will take over.)
Check after the jump for each girl's official shot!
This movie's going to be such a GayFest; I'm squealing for "Dancing Queen" already. Here's the first movie poster I've seen for the upcoming Mamma Mia! movie, starring Meryl Streep and Karen from Mean Girls. It comes out July 18 in the U.S.
Oh, Snap! Yes, Those Are Some Sexy Men in the New Dolce & Gabbana Ads
I enjoyed these man-pictures from the Dolce & Gabbana Spring - Summer 2008 campaign so much, I just had to share. Ah, D&G ads are always so wonderful and gay-friendly, aren't they?
Oh, Snap! This Is the New Marc Jacobs Ad With Victoria Beckham?
Brilliant! I'll never doubt you ever again, Marc! But how did you sedate Posh enough to get her to pose without her alien face and boobs front-and-center?
I'm guessing there'll be more pictures from the new Marc Jacobs ad campaign with Victoria Beckham - ones in which Victoria will actually be visible - but this is just fantastic, even with Marc's crazy high-heels!
At least one, anyway; another picture after the jump...
I love you, Pete Wentz, but if Fall Out Boy complained your dating Ashlee Simpson was making the band not-legit, they must be way pissed at you right about now. Did FOB really need the money?
And "girls don't need makeup to be hot," but it looks like you don't mind a little here and there!
Check out the cover art for The B-52s upcoming album, Funplex - due March 25. Sure, they ain't spring chickens, but they're adorable! All I need to see are Kate's long ruby red tresses and Cindy's piled-up blond mess of a 'do and I'm happy!
Frankly, the look of this is very "Scissor Sisters" to me, and that's cool.
I also kinda love that Fred looks like he's about to bite somebody's head off (hopefully, not Kate's). He's a fierce snappy gay! Let 'er rip!!!
And there's a classic B-52s clip after the jump for ya...
Now I understand why flight attendants say "de-planing" instead of "getting off." Or maybe I don't; this ad confuses me.
Well, thanks to Radar's upcoming issue, there are many more penis-joke ads where that came from! According to Radar's reporting (I don't have time for such things), "last year, more than 180 Fortune 500 companies hawked their wares in gay publications," and I guess they're speaking to their audience?
Check the rest of the pictures after the jump. This next one's priceless, I swear.
Oh, Snap! Tila Tequila's Gay-Friendly New Year's Eve Masquerade!
Hope everyone's gotten over their NYE hangovers 'cause seeing Tila Tequila at MTV's New Year's Eve Masquerade in NYC might worsen a few symptoms. Well, anyway, that night sure was gay, huh?
It looks like Tila and Dani entered separately. Awkward!
Oh, Snap! Check Out Janet Jackson's Crazy Robot Album Cover for "Feedback!"
Wow - and I complained that the original cover art for "Feedback" had Janet Jackson photoshopped beyond recognition! Check out the official pic for Janet's new single, "Feedback;" her Discipline album comes out February 26.
But now that I look at it, Robo-Janet's pretty fierce. Although, that song is all about the sex; robots and discipline aren't that sexy...well, maybe discipline.
For a piece called The Continuing Adventures of Tim and Johnny, the January issue of Details conducted a Q&A with Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, who's starring in Tim's latest movie, Sweeney Todd.
Yeah, OK - I care a lot more about the Johnny photos...I mean, look at that stuff! Check for the rest of the pictures from the Details photo shoot after the jump, but you can read scans of the Sweeney Todd interview right on over here, if you so choose. (Each guy takes a philosophical/Cosmopolitan-ish 10 Things I've Learned quiz too.)
Oh, Snap! Lily Allen on the Cover of January's GQ (Britain)!
Damn, Lily! Now MySpace about it! The Daily Mail reports Lily Allen lost 19 pounds in six weeks after doctors diagnosed a heart murmur in the 22-year-old singer.
The pub also had this to say, regarding her feature in GQ:
"[Lily] explains how many of her high profile feuds - she has rowed with the members of Girls Aloud among others - were fueled by insecurities about her appearance...She told the magazine...'I felt like, 'Oh God, I'm short, fat, ugly...and I hate all these people who flaunt their beauty.'"
Hmm! I feel like someone is doing Lily a disservice by saying all of her music-industry smack-talk stemmed from her insecurity about the way she looked. I'll have to read this GQ article when it comes out for a little more context.
But the picture looks hot, and (not that I know what I'm talking about) it seems less photoshopped than her Provocateur pictures, no?
Oh, Snap! Esquire Cover: Performances of the Year!
The upcoming issue of Esquire magazine is making the Internet rounds, and, even though I haven't seen all of these movies, it's a fantastic cover. P.S. Cate, you've been on every magazine lately, huh?
So, these folks are...Denzel Washington in American Gangster, (I saw that one! He was the best part of it.) Robert Downey Jr. in Zodiac (good too!), Jake Gyllenhaal in Rendition, Emile Hirsch in Into The Wild, Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men, (I need to see that.) and Cate Blanchett in I’m Not There.
Oh, Snap! American Music Awards Funky Red Carpet Dresses!
As y'all probably know, the American Music Awards were last night (you can check the winners on that link), and besides super-high-budget performances, the only reason I'm into those long-ass shows are the crazy red carpet dresses.
I'd say Carrie Underwood and Rihanna had the most...unusual ones, no? I still can't decide if I like either of them. I know the "whole point" of Carrie's dress is that neck thing, but it's kind of frump for someone so young...and Rihanna looks like a really high-end, futuristic dominatrix. Well, that's actually pretty hot.
But I did like Nicole Scherzinger's dress! It was fun and not costume-y. Now if only she'd come out with that damn CD!
Oh, Snap! The Spice Girls Perform at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show!
The Spice Girls (whose comeback has disappointed, for the most part) made their reunion TV debut last night at the 2007 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Hollywood...and looked pretty great, actually. (The show will air on CBS December 4.)At least someone put some clothes on Ginger this time.
And of course, Heidi was there in all her kooky, German glory. But does anyone else miss Tyra? (Not that she isn't on TV enough...)
Oh, Snap! KT Tunstall, Ben Stiller, Kathy Griffin and Sarah Silverman at the WGA Strike!
Fantastic singer (and lesbian favorite) KT Tunstall joined in on the Writer's Guild of America picketing yesterday...and sung a few songs while she was there! This crew of protesters was outside Walt Disney Studios.
And earlier this week in front of Universal Studios, did Ben flash a Zoolander face for the cameras? It's "Bring a Celeb to the Picket Line!"
Check some of Kathy Griffin and Sarah Silverman's particularly funny picket signs...after the jump!
Oh, Snap! Mika and Celine Dion Win Big at the World Music Awards!
The World Music Awards, which honors musicians based on their worldwide sales, gave out its 2007 statues November 4 in Monaco...and guess who cleaned up?
That high-pitched, I'm-too-good-to-talk-about-whether-or-not-I'm-gay British pop-ster, Mika! The singer's awards included World's Best Selling Pop Male Artist, World's Best Selling Pop/Rock Male Artist (never thought I'd hear "rock" and "Mika" in the same sentence) and World's Best Selling New Artist .
And the lovely Canadian gay icon Celine Dion (whose new album, Taking Chances, is due November 13) took home the 'Legend' award. Damn right.
I can't imagine a better way to spend Halloween than with the B-52s...even if I was a tad ignorant of their work going into their concert. (The only B-52s songs I knew were "Rock Lobster" and "Love Shack," but...who doesn't, right?)
After their show last night at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC, though, I considered myself a newly-born B-52s fan! (And a fan of DJ Johnny Dynell; he was working me, too.)
Cindy Wilson, Fred Schneider and Kate Pierson rocked the costumed crowd (the "Rock Lobster" encore had everyone freaking out), and their vocals, along with their funky, exciting and quirky beats, were just amazing!
I now love "Mesopotamia," which felt strangely relevant considering it came out in 1982, as well as a few new tracks from their upcoming album, Funplex (particularly "Juliet of the Spirits). And, of course, "Love Shack" was great...love shack, bay-beeee...
Oh, Snap! More Celebrity Halloween Costumes: Ashley Takes a Bite Out of Marc!
So I was thinking about Marc Jacobs after seeing LC be a total brat to him last night on The Hills...and then I found these amazing pictures of the designer (along with his BF) at Kate Hudson's Halloween party! And not sure where MK was, but Ashley's costume is fantastic!
And Jake and Reese were also in attendance...although less photo-friendly.
Well, these might not be the crazi-est celeb costumes...(check out Paris Hilton's costume lineup)...but there were definitely some interesting choices this weekend at the Dream Halloween fund raiser for children affected by AIDS.
I've got no idea what Rumer Willis was supposed to be / thinking...and Teri's lookin' a little scary, considering there were children there. And, by the way, that's Marlee Matlin (from Children of a Lesser God) dressed as Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean...in case you needed help, as I did. Nice pose, I guess?
Oh, Snap! Gay Dumbledore T-Shirts! All Wizards Are Gay!
Now who wouldn't pay for this? Whether or not you knew the Hogwarts headmaster was totes gay, why not show your support of all the gay, dead wizards out there? Or if you just find these shirts, courtesy of www.dumbledorepride.com, as hilarious as I do, you can order either Dumbledore-Is-Gay T-shirt right now for $18. To quote these geniuses...
"We could've seen Neville turning out to be gay. Or Dolores Umbridge turning out to be a lesbian. But Dumbledore? We'll admit, we didn't see it coming.
But, apparently, a lot of people did. You just knew...since he was never married, you postulated, his love must have been the taboo kind you can only express by taking a wide stance in a bathroom while you wait for your train at Platform 9 and 3/4ths...And we have a shirt for you to celebrate your inability to turn off your gaydar while reading a children's book."
And a portion of the proceeds will go to GLAAD! Dumbledore would be proud - spread the love!
I kind of love Shar Jackson since seeing her win Celebrity Rap Superstar...and I'm glad I know a little more about her now beyond her role in Goodburger and her K-Fed baby drama.
And since Getty decided to follow her around yesterday - a day which included a performance at TRL in NYC - she definitely needs a post. Shar also announced that she'll soon come out with her own single called "Let It Blow."
Check out the collection of Shar's performances on Celebrity Rap Superstar. (she does Eve, Eminem, Missy, Run DMC - and actually does them well, it's true!)
Oh, Snap! Kylie Minogue Loves the Red Carpet at White Diamond Documentary Premiere!
Hmm - OK, Dannii can come too.
Kylie shows love for her fans like no celebrity I've seen...or maybe she just loves the red carpet like no celebrity I've seen. But she's fantastic (if you haven't seen the video for "2 Hearts," you need to catch up), and she was her usual charming self at the premiere of her behind-the-scenes documentary, White Diamond.
Kylie's personal stylist, William Baker, filmed Kylie while on tour (after her nine-month hiatus for breast cancer treatment). Sounds great, but I'm a little surprised - it's only 11-minutes long?
Oh, Snap! Heatherette Spring 2008 Fashion Show is Cuh-razy!
It's Heatherette designers Richie Rich and Traver Rains (sporting, as they always seem to do, a full face of makeup and a cowboy hat, respectively) - with Jenna Jameson and a model who got a special spot for some reason.
As part of L.A. Fashion Week, Smashbox Studios in Culver City, California hosted the Heatherette Spring 2008 fashion show. And those designs were nuts and amazing!
The fab New York-based design house is a favorite of tons of celebrities, and the pair's designs were even on America's Next Top Model and My Super Sweet Sixteen!
Kelly's back to work with a vengeance! The singer canceled some concerts after the release of her album, My December, but that feels like forever ago. Kelly's got a new video, and she killed it at The Beacon Theater in New York last night - so she's not goin' anywhere.
And apparently, she told the audience she was glad the venue provided pumpkin pie!
Why is everything so low-budget for you now, Brit? You can't use the same picture for your album cover that you did for your single! Ah, well...I need to learn to stop caring - it's a losing game with this one.
Oh, Snap! Enrique Iglesias on The Young and the Restless!
Enrique - you so pretty...even when you're not serenading gay boys!
And he does have those soap-opera good looks! Mr. Iglesias recorded an episode of The Young and the Restless yesterday (it'll air November 7) in which he performed at "Neil Winters's jazz club, Indigo." Enrique sang "Somebody's Me" from his latest album, Insomniac.
The singer will kick off his world tour soon in South Africa...then he'll be all over Europe...and eventually will come to the U.S.
Oh, Snap! It's the Q Awards! It's Not Amy Winehouse!
The story's totally unrelated to Kylie...I just like her.
Music magazine Q held its annual Awards ceremony and afterparty this weekend, and all of those beautiful, British musicians were there!
Well, almost all of them - Amy's done it again: Winehouse won the Viewer's Choice Award with her latest album, Back to Black, but she was not in attendance. The always-handsome DJ Mark Ronson (who produced the album and did the duet, "Valerie," with Amy) accepted the award on her behalf. He told the audience, "That's Amy – taking her pain and turmoil and making it into the music we enjoy."
Check after the jump...Mika (all cleaned up!), KT Tunstall and Kate Nash and Paul McCartney...they're all here!
Oh, Snap! Annie Lennox, Patrick Wolf, Cazwell & Jay Brannan Visit Logo!
Look deeeeeeeeeep into Annie Lennox's eyes...
Yesterday was a busy day at the Logo HQ in NYC. A whole bunch of pop stars came to visit the folks in gay TV-land. Actually, they were all in the house shooting a bunch of interviews for Logo’s weekly music video show NewNowNext, which always serves up hot indie-flavored new artists (think Bat for Lashes & Simian Mobile Disco), new works by cool queers (Cazwell, The Cliks, Junior Senior) and the latest from pop stars and icons (Rihanna, Rufus Wainwright, Xtina).
Legendary pop diva Annie Lennox was serving pop icon classy-ness yesterday, chatting about her new Songs of Mass Destruction album, and just thrilling everyone with her astute bearing and piercing eyes. She’s intense! Gotta love her!
Cazwell kicked off the day, cracking everybody up with stories about crazy NYC gays, his partner-in-crime-and-nightlife Amanda Lepore and talking about the raucous rhymes he lays down as music pre-eminent rapper who just happens to like guys.
Indie prince Patrick Wolf brought lots of glitter and style to the occasion, and had all kinds of spritely sass to offer. Go see him in concert like now, if you can handle the arty, blissful brilliance of it all.
And singer/songwriter, Shortbus star and all-around lovely lad Jay Brannan also whizzed by to discuss his current offering on iTunes, Unmastered, which you oughtta snatch up if you’re a sucker for strummy and smart melodic songs about love, yearning and the general confusion of trying to figure out what this loopy world is all about.
Check all their pics after the jump! And keeping watching NewNowNext Music on Sunday nights for all of the gab-fueled goodness.
Oh, Snap! Sanjaya, Hottie and Janice at the Fox Reality Show Awards
I don't even know where to begin discussing the Fox Reality Show Awards...all of those train wrecks, all in one place - I'm surprised something didn't go horribly wrong. It looks like Hottie from Flavor of Love and Charm School performed! Oh, such entertainment! I hope it was "My Man, My Mansion, My Money."
And American Idol's greatest gift/worst enemy Sanjaya presented with Janice! He (perhaps rightfully so) looks terrified of her!
It's 12-Pack...and as I'd expect, he looks wasted! After the jump...Brooke Hogan kinda looks like a giant and...I know you're excited: It's Crissy, Bitch!
Oh, Snap! A Flashback for the Sex and the City Ladies!
Who knew Carrie Bradshaw, in her younger days, looked exactly like Ashlee Simpson?
Sex and the City-stalkers snapped this photo of four young lookalikes on the set of the upcoming Sex and the City movie. Diligent New York city photogs have, in their coverage, revealed certain plot-points - mainly that Charlotte is pregnant!
I'm not as familiar with the show as I probably should be - is it a fantasy, a flashback? Were the girls supposed to have been friends since such a young age?
Lady-rockers The Donnas released their new album, Bitchin', yesterday - and get a load of that rumpy, '80s cover art!
Their new video for "Don't Wait Up For Me" is playing on stereogum.com as well. And seriously, there's more slow-motion hair-flipping going on in this video than in the Charlie's Angels movies!
Oh, Snap! Emmys Pictures! Sally Field's No-to-War, Daily Show Love and X-Tina with Tony Bennett!
Accepting her award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series (for Brothers & Sisters) at the 59th Primetime Emmys last night, Sally Field let the world know if mothers were running things, there would be no war!
While Jon Stewart hugged it out with his former Daily Show comrades, Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell...pretending to accept the Emmy for Comedy Lead Actor (which actually went to Extra's Ricky Gervais).
And because this is a gay blog...
Can't you just hear the, "OoohhOohooOhohhOOohhoohhho-Yeeeaaaaah"?
Oh, Snap! Meet the Missionaries! Hot Mormons Take it Off!
It's about time all those hot Mormons showed off the goods! "Men on a Mission" has put together a 2008 calendar featuring returned Mormon missionaries in sexy photo-shoots. The program selected the "Devout Dozen" based on their "striking appearances and powerful spiritual commitment."
A portion of all the calendar proceeds will go to the Red Cross, Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity. Hello, Mr. December!
Oh, Snap! Mariah Carey Gives It Up For New York City Jurors!
Mariah, I'm just sayin', you might want to call up Kathy Griffin to hang out.
A stamp unveiling? Along with Bernadette Peters, Mariah hosted the NYC unveiling of a new stamp to honor New York jurors yesterday: the Jury Duty Social Awareness stamp.
Mariah would probably prefer hotter venues than the Manhattan State Supreme Court, but she does have to keep the checks coming in somehow!
Oh, Snap! Someone Asked Lance Bass to Ring NASDAQ Closing Bell!
For whatever reason, Lance Bass rang the closing bell at the NASDAQ stock exchange yesterday - September 11.
Well, actually it has something to do with Lance also hosting the Broadway on Broadway party/free concert on Sunday to celebrate the beginning of the Broadway season. Don't really see the connection, though...
With her husband in tow, Madonna strolled in front of photographers carrying a recent purchase (in a clear, plastic bag - highly inappropriate!): the..."Purple Penetrator."
Definitely sounds like a household multi-tasker...
Well! Glad to see those two are keeping the spark alive!
Kind of looks like an action-movie promo poster (You're goin' down!) - but I'm liking J.Lo's new album cover art. Her sixth studio album is due October 9, with lead single "Do It Well" (the first single in Europe was "Hold It, Don't Drop It").
Maggie officially glam-ed out as the new face for lingerie line Agent Provocateur (past stars have included Kate Moss, Kylie Minogue and Dita Von Teese).
More pics (Maggie gets kinda kinky, too) after the jump!
Oh, Snap! Diana's Anniversary Memorial Service Held in London
Prince Harry, dapper and reverent at his mother's memorial; meanwhile, Mohamed Al-Fayed (center, beneath the statue) held his own tribute at Harrod's.
Today in London, the royal family marked the 10th anniversary of the death of Princess Dianawith a memorial service. Above, that's ever-so-dashing Prince Harry attending (and at the risk of being inappropriate, can I say that he looks fine in that fantastic suit?), above. On the right above, is Mohamed Al-Fayed, the father of Diana's lover Dodi Al-Fayed, who held a two-minute silence at his department store, Harrod's. And yes, that's a statue of Dodi and Diana (and a large bird) that holds court in a shrine at Harrod's. Mohamed Al-Fayed wasn't invited to the official memorial for Diana, but of course that's because he's been claiming publicly that that the royal family was behind the princess' death.
Elton John and David Furnish attended the service. As did Bryan Adams. And the two Princes, William and Harry, were the ones who orchestrated much of the affair. Their stepmother, Camilla Parker-Bowles did not attend, given her touchy past with Diana. Also at the service were 110 representatives from charities that Diana supported.
And yes, mourners and fans of the princess have been leaving flowers and tributes at the gates of Diana's former home, Kensington Palace.
Still not sure about an Anna Nicole movie...but Bobby Trendy is totally hilarious, and he just sent out these pictures from the set of the upcoming film. Bobby plays himself (that must be strange, right?), and Willa Ford ("I wanna be bad!") plays ANS.
Oh, Snap! Reichen & Ryan are Twinsies. But that Tattoo...
Tramp staaamp!
These pics have made the rounds but are still worth a glance. Who minds a bit of dopey tan with your muffin this morning?
Yes, Amazing Race-winner/Lance Bass-ex/Love & Pride jewelry hawker Reichen Lehmkuhl hung out at a pool party with his latest man-pony, Ryan... Did anyone know he had those tattoos?! Anyone care much?
Awwww, Reichen... We tease because we love. Mostly.
Oh, Snap! Perez Hilton and Beth Ditto on the Cover of URB Magazine!
It's the Gossip Queens!
You can check more pictures from the photo shoot on Perez's Web site.
To quote Perez: "We LOVE that two opinionated queers are on the cover of a mainstream publication. Hopefully this is inspiring to the little baby homos and lezzies all over the world."
Oh, Snap! American Idols' New Looks at Teen Choice Awards!
American Idol Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks and Season 1 runner-up Justin Guarini attended the Teen Choice Awards this weekend - both sportin' some new hair-dos.
And it looks like Kelly (with High School Musical's Vanessa Hudgens) is back to blonde...and although I expected better from Sanjaya in the hair department, the Malakar-family love is very cute.
Oh, Snap! New Zealand Promotional Parade Attracts Plenty of Attention!
A group of adult-film stars gave the residents of Auckland, New Zealand a lot to think about yesterday. To promote the upcoming Erotica Expo (which I can only assume is as wonderful as it sounds), the girls rode down Queen Street...flying free!
Well, this troupe is from NYC, but they took to the streets of Sydney to promote their show, Les Ballets Grandiva or Men In Tutus. For their act, the all-male dance troupe combines serious ballet with comedy.
But they're not messing around - the crew includes 20 of the best international male ballet dancers from 13 countries!
Oh, Snap! Janice Dickinson Loves PETA and Getting Her Models to Strip!
Janice's models really do earn their paychecks. I got these pictures from JustJared...and they get kind of racy; some models really did protest naked.
Janice recruited her employees to join her in the PETA anti-fur "I'd Rather Go Naked" protest on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday - enlighten a few minds, cop a few feels - all in a day's work.
This is new to me (even though it's on its 14th year), but last night Sydney hosted DIVA 2007 (Drag Industry Variety Awards).
Summersault, Vanity Faire (she kind of looks like Lindsay Lohan, doesn't she?) and Chelsey were all looking pretty fantastic; those drag queens always do red carpet looks better.
The British singer recently canceled a bunch of her European performances due to "sinusitis" and "strep throat;" she even has a doctor's note, you guys!
But that didn't stop Lily from hitting up London's Punk night club! Then, on her way out, she made her friends carry her 50 yards down Oxford Street to their car in a Habitat plastic bag!
Great job, Ryan! This picture is actually attractive, but also tasteful...unlike what I've been used to from the gay pubs lately...Mika's and Marc Jacobs' Out covers, in particular.
Ryan will star in the upcoming movie, The Nines, in which he plays the part of the film's gay director, John August. So, time to win over the gay audience!
In the article, Ryan had this to say on homophobia, “Anyone who is homophobic - they’re triggered on some level by something within themselves that they’re desperately afraid of.”
Oh, Snap! Black Eyed Peas Soak Up Some Korean Culture
And the problem with this picture is...?
Taboo, apl.de.ap, Fergie and will.i.am. of Black Eyed Peas pose together in Seoul, South Korea. They're still on tour together (they'll play a concert in South Korea on Wednesday), but most are embarking on solo career these days.
And they look just ecstatic in the traditional Koren garb, don't they?
Why does this feel so inappropriate to me? He is 22, so I guess it's fine...(the Zac Efron Rolling Stonecover makes me feel dirty, though).
So Prince Harry will be on the cover of Radar's upcoming issue (it'll hit news stands August 13), and the mag delves into his partying ways, but from what I see, the story doesn't involve an interview.
Here's a quote:
"Harry's bodyguards spend much of their time intercepting bar patrons they suspect of trying to push ecstasy on the prince."
Hmm...yeah, remember that time he dressed up as a Nazi?
Oh, Snap! Michelle Pfeiffer Makes the Walk of Fame!
Don't look so surprised, Michelle!
The Hairspray and Stardust villainess got her own spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at Hollywood and Highland yesterday.
Jeff Bridges and Paul Rudd, her co-star in the upcoming I Could Never Be Your Woman, were both there to honor Michelle, who thanked her mom in her speech for encouraging her to have a job before she got married.
Thousands of music-lovers came together yesterday on Lollapalooza's final day at Grant Park in Chicago. The festival offered a huge lineup of musicians, who all performed on one of the seven stages.
That's Daniel Johns of Silverchair, Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction and Juliette Lewis of Juliette & The Licks...all getting into festival spirit.
And, of course, Amy W. was there, perfectly coiffed.
Power-gay Lance Bass just posted the cover for his upcoming memoir on his MySpace...
And I have to address Lance referring to himself as "LBeezy" on his blog. Just...no, Lance. It's your blog and everything, but someone should have screened that.
Anyway, Lance had this to say on his epic autobiography, "I wrote this book so that it might help those out there interested in the music industry, space, and/or coming out story."
Currently, Lance is in rehearsals for his Broadway role as Corny Collins in Hairspray and is also dating hottie, Brazilian model, Pedro Andrade. Life is good, LBeezy!
Oh, Snap! Vanity Fair Features the Young Men of Hollywood!
Vanity Fair posted on their Web site today some very nice pictures of up-and-coming male movie stars they deem "positioned for imminent success."
Of course, their recent cover-boy Shia (21) made it, as well as Hairspray and High School Musical's Zac Efron (19).
Right below is Channing Tatum (who's actually getting up there at age 27). Remember him from She's the Man - or was I the only one who saw that? He'll be on-screen with Charlize Theron in December's Battle in Seattle, as well as with Ryan Phillippe in next year's Stop Loss.
Oh, USWeekly - you guys are so brilliant. The inset picture of Britney during her music video shoot (with caption: Britney on a stripper pole)? Amazing.
Apparently US reports Sean Preston is having dental problems because Britney practically force-feeds him juice to keep him quiet. Ouch. Life & Style has a very similar cover for their most recent issue, and they claim Brit makes Sean get her cigarettes!
At Comic Con 2007 this past weekend in San Diego, Kyle XY lead man Matt Dallas proves he does, in fact, have a belly-button - despite those promo pics.
As always, the Comic Con was nerd heaven (what I would have given to be there...) and attracted many celeb appearances.
Leading Heroes Milo Ventimiglia and Hayden Panettiere, along with future Battlestar Gallactica star, Lucy Lawless!
Mein Got! The body's still in the house! I'm very wary of air-brushing, but she looks undeniably hot.
Heidi let it all out for UK's Arena magazine (and they must have had to seriously shell out - Heidi's supposedly the third-highest paid model in the world).
Oh, Snap! Jessica Alba's New Horror Movie, The Eye!
Whatever Jessica burned, she must have been really invested in it.
So, I think this picture's really funny...taken out of context, anyway. It's from the upcoming horror movie,The Eye, starring Jessica Alba.
I'm a big horror movie fan, and it actually sounds pretty cool. It follows the American tradition of remaking other countries' horror movies who do a better job with the genre (China, in this case).
Jessica plays a blind woman who, thanks to a new procedure, regains her sight, but begins to experience horrible visions.
Oh, Snap! Rob Schneider Makes For One Hot Lindsay Lohan!
He's even sporting the fashion-forward alcohol-monitoring anklet!
Since Lindsay's pretty much f-ed right now (although she's claiming to be innocent), I can understand her scheduled appearance on The Tonight Show last night had to be put on hold.
But Rob Schneider was more than happy to take her spot, and, to make sure no one was disappointed, Rob drag-ed himself out in a full-on Lindsay outfit!
I was rooting for you, and now you pull this sh*t...again. What happened to your alcohol anklet?
TMZ is loaded with coverage of Lindsay's big slip-up last night, and I'm sure the story will develop further. Apparently she was chasing down the mother of one of her assistants who recently quit...What?
Lindsay's official list of offenses for her night out: Possession of cocaine, driving under the influence, transporting a narcotic into a custodial facility and driving on a suspended license.
Police pulled her over and arrested her early this morning, but she's out now after posting $25,000 bail. I'm feeling the "Blohan" nickname more and more.
Oh, Snap! Flavor Flav Gets Roasted! And the Girls Are Back!
Now that "school's" out, Becky, London (well, she was charming enough), Snoop, Larissa, Shay and Leilene take time to pose before Flav's roast.
But to me, the hugest Flavor of Love and Charm School fan ever, they'll always be Buckwild, Deelishis, Bootz, Buckeey and Smiley! A tragedy of the evening, though: No New York!
And hey...how are Shay and Leilene standing next to Larissa with those smiles on their faces? I guess the combo of Snoop and cameras can even bring the worst of reality-TV-enemies together.
And here's the crazy hype-man himself, Flavor Flaaaav...
Deelishis, "the most booty-ful woman in the world," knows how to pose, you have to admit.
Oh, Snap! Britney Films New "Get Back" Video, Pops Wedgie.
Crazy Ms. Brit has gone back to work!
She's had a few slip-ups in keeping her new single, "Get Back," to herself - such as playing it in her car in front of paparazzi and now standing outside during filming of the music video!
Well, she looks better! If I were her, I would have given myself a little more time, but maybe this sort of thing will help her onto the right track again.
Britney was snapped in costume yesterday at an L.A. warehouse...no word as to when the video will come out, but it's got to be soon!
Oh, Snap! Courtney Act, the Drag Queen from Australian Idol, Sailors It Up!
And he is a damn-convincing drag queen!
Former Australian Idol contestant, Courtney Act, attended and performed at the "Hello, Sailor!" themed Social Diary Winter Drinks Party at Soho Bar in Sydney, Australia yesterday.
I think "Courtney's" story is hilarious: Back in 2003, Shane Jenek auditioned for Australian Idol but didn't make it past round one; he auditioned again the next day, this time as Courtney, impressed the judges and made it to the semi-finals!
Actress Asha Kuerten partakes in some party refreshment...while Courtney gets into character.
Oh, Snap! Mika Dry Humps a Bunny at Somerset House Concert!
Big Bunny, you are beautiful!
Mika got a little freaky with a guy in a bunny suit during his performance at the Somerset House outdoor music series on Tuesday.
The concerts began on July 12 and will continue until the 21st; Somerset has and will feature many other performances, including Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen.
And not to be outdone by Mika's showmanship, Patrick Wolf gave an eyeful to his London audience...
This was just the Gayest Little Show on Earth, wasn't it?
Oh Snap! Penelope and Monica Cruz Launch Their Mango Clothing Line!
And boy is it hot in here.
Penelope and sister Monica strike a few poses in Ibiza, Spain at the launch of their new line with Spain-based fashion chain, Mango.
The sisters' collection supposedly has a mix of formal dresses, jeans, knits and day-wear, all inspired by vintage pieces of their own clothes.
I'm not sure I would ever call old clothes in my closet "Vintage Me," but hey, it is Penelope Cruz.
A bunch of big names in the Spain fashion world attended the launch party - no one who I've heard of, though...except for this guy and his model wife (I haven't heard of him either, but he gets to come).
Oh, Snap! Jessica Simpson Had A Miami Fashion Show?
Papa Simpson doesn't seem to be having as much fun.
With her gay on her right and the parentals on her left, Jessica sat back in...awe (or is that a nip-slip?) of the models sporting her new swim wear line. The show closed out Mercedes Benz Fashion Week: Miami Swim this Saturday.
Who knew Jessica was so short? Jess presented three styles as part of her swim wear line: All-American Girl, Boho Girl and Retro-Hawaiian Girl. Will these do better than her line of jeans she refused to wear?
Adam Sandler, Jessica Biel and Kevin James at their big premiere...but how do the gays feel about the movie? Were any even there?
Last night was the premiere of I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry in Universal City, California; the movie's about two straight friends who pretend to be gay to get civil union benefits.
I don't know too much else, but I've seen many a commercial featuring Adam grabbing Jessica's boobs, then saying, "yucky." Hmm...Well, hopefully that's not the best the movie has to offer.
Of course, there were a few more celeb sightings...
Adam and Kevin get all couple-y, and I had to include a Kat McPhee shot!
Oh, Snap! Mo'Nique Bares It All For F.A.T. Chance Photo Shoot!
Gotta love body paint - very America's Next Top Model-y (I remember this from Season 2). Thanks JustJared.com for the pic!
I love Mo'nique - a lot. And it's not just because of Charm School.
I'm also loving this photo shoot taken to promote her upcoming show, F.A.T. Chance: Paris, although the girl on the top-right looks like she belongs in CATS.
So Mo and her finalists went butt-ass naked for this promo shoot for her Oxygen reality show, which tries to bring full-figured women into the world of fashion (F.A.T.=Fabulous And Thick, P.S.).
For the third season, Mo will take her girls to Paris, the ultimate fashion stop; the casting special airs July 21. Check out an interview Mo'Nique gave Essence here for her thoughts on letting it all out, hosting the BET Awards and Charm School!
Oh, Snap! Pedro Andrade Shakes It Up! Who Wants a "Dirty Pedro???"
Back in 2004, Pedro graced the cover of NYC's Next Magazine. Cheers!
Good morning, folks! There's been bits and pieces on the World Wide Web in the past few days about Lance Bass' new squeeze, NYC-based model Pedro Andrade. And hey, I think Pedro's a total peach! Sure, he's breath-takingly good-looking and all... But Lance is also lucky because Pedro's a super-nice guy.
The shots here were taken for Next Magazine (the local gay bar mag here in NYC) back in January of 2004. I was editor-in-chief of the magazine then, and photographer Richard Mitchell and I were rounding up some of the city's hottest gay bartenders to shoot for our annual fitness issue. Pedro kindly agreed to volunteer. (Yep, we coudn't even pay him... Sad, but true.) And the results were killer!
How to make a "Dirty Pedro," and another soakin' good pic after the jump!
What's with Harry Potter and the raunch? He already went butt-naked on stage, and now he's posing in an S&M outfit for Details magazine? Where's the sling, while you're at it?
I'm right there with you, Emma!
Danny, or Details art directors, should perhaps take some style tips from Emma - she dresses cute, and she's filthy rich. I thought this story following her shopping spree was really funny (and it's where I got these photos). You should check it...That is, if you can tear yourself away from Daniel-gone-leather-daddy.
Zac Efron, Amanda Bynes, Nikki Blonksy and Elijah Kelley play the Hairspray high-school crew.
The youngins from the upcoming movie Hairspray (which opens July 20 in the U.S.) attended the London premiere last night at Odeon West End. They all look very nice, and I must give Amanda she's looking totally cute in that Kate Moss-Topshop dress.
Zac looks like he has a weakness for Mystic Tan, and I spy that PUH! (or Personal Umbrella Holder...Thank you, USWeekly, for that term)
Oh, Snap! Tony Danza Kicks It With the Girls For the Fourth!
Hope everyone had a good Fourth of July...cause uhh...these guys sure did!
And yes, that's Tony Danza, the host of yesterday's A Capitol Fourth Concert, which aired on PBS.
Other "performances" of the evening besides this one included Little Richard, former-American Idol contestant Elliot Yamin, Yolanda Adams and Hayden Panettiere singing the Star Spangled Banner.
And Bebe Neuwirth even brought some musical-theater flair to the patriotic event!
Princes William and Harry (with Elton at the piano, of course) spoke at the Concert for Diana yesterday, which featured some A-list music performances. The event marked 10 years since Princess Diana's death and what would have been her 46th birthday. The concert was held at Wembley Stadium, and its proceeds went to charities Diana supported.
Nelly Furtado, Joss Stone with Tom Jones and Lily Allen all performed at the Concert for Diana yesterday.
Oh, Snap! Cowboys for MAC Viva Glam Have Paul Excited!
Hot cowboys? Why not? They'll certainly be appreciated at a cosmetics event.
British comedian Paul O'Grady really gets into the spirit of the evening at the MAC Viva Glam Party in London. Hey, what else could those guys be for?
Burlesque dancer Ditta Von Teese performed her very special "Lipteese" act as part of the night's festivities, which involves her straddling a giant lipstick, among other things. Dita is one of MAC Viva Glam's four new spokeswomen (along with Eve, Debbie Harry and Lisa Marie Presley), and profits from the product line all go to support people living with HIV and AIDS.
I'm not sure what the stripper cowboys have to do with lipstick, but I'm guessing no one complained!
Oh, Snap! The Reunited Spice Girls Press Conference!
It's Posh, Sporty, Ginger, Baby and Scary...together again!
As you know, the Spice Girls are reuniting, and the ladies posed Thursday before their press conference in Greenwich, England...where they announced their upcoming tour dates!
They'll be kicking off in L.A. this December, and you can check the rest of their tour dates here.
Oh, Snap! Post-Prison Paris Poses For People, Not USWeekly.
The 23-day Paris saga has finally ended.
Well, actually it's probably just getting going. After stepping out of jail, Paris did two things I would definitely expect from her: She got new hair extensions and gave People an exclusive. But that's cool - I love Paris. Check out excerpts from the interview here.
USWeekly is feeling seriously miffed Paris wouldn't pose for their cover. To show her a thing or two, the mag has decided to not mention Paris at all in their upcoming issue (or maybe they really are just suffering from "Paris-fatigue," as they say). USWeekly without Paris? I'm having trouble picturing it...
I just want my Paris coverage to shift back toward clubbing, flashing and man-stealing where it belongs.
Oh, Snap! Girls With Guns Takes Web TV to New Levels of Class!
Now this is what I call reality TV.
These three contestants from the Web show, Girls With Guns (nice, descriptive title), lock and load as they prepare for the day's competition.
This brilliant show is part of the recently-launched ToughSportsLive.com Web site which broadcasts several straight-guy-friendly Web shows. The ladies of Girls With Guns compete for a $5000 prize after three weeks of firearms training, and they're judged on accuracy, form and, of course, sex-appeal.
You know...I thought this was all really funny until I found out ToughSpotsLive.com also broadcasts cock fighting, bragging, "Cock fighting has a history which traces back to times before Christ."
And that makes it OK?
It would be tragic to cut short Girls With Guns, especially in its infancy, but the cock fights should get that site shut down. Who wants to watch that, anyway? Crazy straight guys...
Oh, Snap! New York and San Francisco Show Their Pride!
A couple of San Francisco natives share a kiss at the city's 37th LGBT Pride Parade yesterday.
Hope everyone had a great Pride weekend!
San Francisco Pride was in full swing yesterday, but, not to be outdone, New Yorkers celebrated all that is LGBT at their Pride parade on Sunday as well.
The few (well, not so few yesterday!), the proud and the gay strut their stuff on the NYC streets.
Also at the EW Must List party last night at Gotham Hall in New York were Alan Cumming (Well, I would call Alan an A-Lister, actually), Antonella Barba (Remember Wet T-shirt Girl from American Idol?) and Lydia Hearst, the daughter of guerilla warfare group kidnapping victim, Patty Hearst...Yeah, I don't know why she was there.
I really only included Lydia because I thought she looked so ridiculous. Am I right?
Oh, Snap! Thousands Brave the Rain for Glastonbury Festival
Wouldn't you know it - it's raining over at Worthy Farm on those poor 170,000 festival-goers. Well, no they're not poor, not with that lineup.
Organizers of the Glastonbury music festival ordered 13,000 pairs of rain boots for their attendees to help brave the elements, but it looks like these guys are pretty resourceful. I'm a big fan of the Port-o-Potty Stonehenge-ish creation.
For those who don't know, a dairy farmer started the Glastonbury festival in 1970, and it's grown into the largest musical fest in Europe. There are probably too many headliners to name right now (there are over 2000 performances on 35 different stages over the course of the five-day festival), but a few include, The Killers, The Who, Arctic Monkey, Bjork, Lily Allen and Rufus Wainwright.
Oh, Snap! What Is Good Luck Chuck's Relation To John Lennon Rolling Stone Cover Again?
So the movie poster for Good Luck Chuck just came out, and I...don't get it.
This movie looks like a cheesy, Employee of the Month-esque romantic comedy, and I see no relation to John Lennon, Yoko Ono or Rolling Stone. Maybe they're just trying to be funny/outrageous, but I guess I kind of missed it.
I watched the trailer, and from what I can tell, the movie follows Dane Cook's character as he has sex with countless women once the world realizes he's good luck - any woman who has sex with him ends up marrying the next guy she dates.
And I don't know if this picture is supposed to look that photoshop-ed, but what's with Jessica Alba's head! And (I have to say it) it's too bad they put underwear on Dane Cook, isn't it?
Oh, Snap! The MOJO Honours List's...Interesting! Red Carpet Attendees.
Bjork, Alice Cooper and Iggy Pop make it to the MOJO Honours List ceremony in London's EC1 yesterday.
So MOJO magazine held their Honours List ceremony yesterday, and, to use their words, celebrity nominees surprisingly "managed the simple task of turning up at 6 p.m., falling out of cabs and grazing canapés."
Yeah...I guess you could say this red carpet wasn't your typical Hollywood fare.
To give away a few MOJO winners, Amy Winehouse won Song of the Year (I bet you can guess for what), and Arcade Fire took home Best Live Act. You can read the full list of winners on MOJO's Web site.
And in other very important Tyra news, it seems that Tyra's people now post segments on their Web site too inappropriate for TV. Here's Tyra telling all you ladies out there how to pee without getting your panties all nasty.
Oh, Snap! Just Another Usual Morning for David Beckham
Can I help you?
Today is David Beckham’s last training session with his buds at Real Madrid (which is the football—er, soccer—team he plays with in Spain). Soon he’ll be suiting up for his new day job in L.A. But first he thought he’d meet the press in Madrid. You know, just a few photographers... Nothing major.
Zoinks! You think he gets tired of this? (His wife doesn’t seem to. More pics of Becks—and her—after the jump.)
Oh, Snap! Angelina Jolie Wears 26 Dollar Dress to Her Own Premiere!
The dress was just one of a few questionable moves last night on Angelina's part.
Angie and Brad attended the New York premiere of A Mighty Heart last night, but I have to wonder what Angelina was thinking - especially since this was her own movie!
For some reason, the usually glamorous Angie wore a $26 crushed velvet dress she bought at a thrift store in L.A.!
...Why?
Also, before showing up to the Ziegfeld Theatre screening, Angie had her lawyer do a little prep work: He made all the reporters sign a contract promising not to ask her personal questions or they couldn't talk to her. In addition, reporters could only use footage of her to promote her movie, or else Angie would sue them!
Apparently, USA Today and the AP then canceled their interviews. You can't call all the shots, Angelina!
Oh, Snap! Dress Malfunctions at the Fantastic Four Premiere
Those red-carpet dresses are nothing but trouble.
Jessica Alba and Ioan Gruffudd's fiancee (I think she's an actress too, but I don't care...and Jessica's dress is a lot better.) do a little adjusting at the London premiere of the Fantastic Four sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer.
The Fantastic...Five. (left to right) Tim Story (director), Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis, Chris Evans and Ioan Gruffudd. Or if we're doing super hero names! Invisible Woman, The Thing, Human Torch and Mr. Fantastic.
The Terminatin' actress was at the Monte Carlo Television Festival Tuesday to promote her show on the Sci-Fi channel, Painkiller Jain.
And she knows how to work her s***! Interesting tattoo she has goin' on too...
By the way, Painkiller Jane is a comic book, turned made-for-TV movie, turned Sci-Fi series about a bad-ass vigilante cop with healing super powers and lots of guns. Hmm...I guess Kristanna's not escaping type casting anytime soon.
Chad Michael was there as well to promote One Tree Hill. So why not throw his picture in?
Oh, Snap! Ricky Martin Leads the Puerto Rican Day Parade
Best King Ever! Only King Ever!
The National Puerto Rican Day Parade ran along Fifth Avenue in New York on Sunday.
It was the parade's 50th anniversary and Ricky led with pizazz! Ricky was actually the parade's first king ever, as well as Puerto Rico's best-selling artist ever. Wow...still?
Madelyn Lugo, the parade committee president, said Ricky scored the crown because
"He has always expressed his pride as a Puerto Rican and a Latino."
Oh Snap! You're Not Jaslene, Jessica Alba! ANTM Is Getting Even Less Legit
So that's Jessica Alba signing the July issue of Seventeen. That's right. The issue that's supposed to belong to Jaslene, the winner of America's Next Top Model Cycle 8.
OK, so it's a dual-cover issue, and Jaslene will be on some of the covers, but I still call bull-s*** on that one!
And it looks like the Jessica issue is the one Seventeen is actually promoting. I've been seeing enough of Jessica promoting the hell out of Fantastic Four, anyway. (P.S. Doesn't she look really weird in it this time?)
I don't know if the mag didn't like who Tyra chose this year or if they're just tired of their commitment to the show - and it's not like I'm going to stop watching every season of ANTM or anything - but I do wish the grand prize was actually worth something these days!
Oh Snap! Celebrities Look Pretty (And "Talk" About Africa) For Vanity Fair Covers
These celebs do important work, got it?
OK, some of the guys on the covers of Vanity Fair's July issue seem pretty legit. It's the magazine's special Africa Issue, and Annie Leibovitz took pictures of 21 differnet celebrities and political figures for their 20 different covers. It's supposed to depict this big group of super-powerful people talking to each other about Africa.
The above is of Djimon Hounsou and Mo; her focus is the one million plus orphans in Malawai with HIV/AIDS - and, we all know, she even adopted a Malawi kid!
