Ohio Bartender Writes "Fags" On Customer's Receipt, Says "It Wasn't Meant To Be Offensive"

A bartender in Ohio is in hot water after "jokingly" writing "FAGS" on a customer's receipt Sunday afternoon.

The customers didn't mind, actually—they were friends of Alissa Maugen, a bartender at Lakewood, Ohio's West End Tavern, and found the reference hilarious.

But after they posted the receipt on social media and it went viral, the ish hit the fan. Maugen told WSYX ABC 6 the whole thing is being overblown. "I understand it's a very sensitive thing but it wasn't meant to be offensive toward anybody."

Andrew Rollings, one of the customers, claimed it was just "joking around" among friends.
