Olympic Moment(s) Of The Day: Happy Worker, Twitchy Parents

So far, London has proven to be an interesting Olympic host (“interesting” is, of course, a neutral term). Perhaps not everyone was too crazy about Danny Boyle’s Voldemort/Mary Poppins battle, but hopefully at least some viewers are more enthusiastic than this lady, who is just ecstatic to be working for the biggest sporting event in the world.

The mayor of London wrote a list of why you should care about the London Olympics. A highlight is #19, where he likens female volleyball players to “wet otters”. “Magnificent and bonkers,” indeed!
After beating Colombia 3-0 in women’s soccer (or “football” for you Europhiles), American Abby Wambach got a nasty black eye from Lady Andrade. Abby later tweeted about it to assure us she was okay. Hang in there, girl.
U.S. gymnast Aly Raisman’s parents are beyond precious. And their enthusiasm wasn’t for nothing–Aly made it to the finals!
