Hey there denizens of the O Music Awards universe! We know you’ll be tuning in on Sunday, October 30, for the event’s 24-hour record-breaking dance party, so why not do some good while you groove along?
This Sunday, the night before MTV’s big, juicy O Music Awards kickoff (featuring Robyn, Kelly Clarkson, Flaming Lips, etc), the OMAs will be launching their (we hope) record-breaking Dance Party Marathon at 9:20 PST, during which a cadre of steppers will be busting out a series of choreographed dance moves for an entire day. The party will go until the awards begin at 8:30pm PST/11:30pm EST, at which time we plan to nab the Guinness World Record for longest choreographed dance marathon.
During said event, we’ll also be raising funds to combat bullying in honor of National Bullying Prevention Month to be split between GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network), It Gets Better Project, The Gay Straight Alliance Network (GSA), Human Rights Campaign (HRC), The Trevor Project and GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation).
That’s where you come in. You, too, can be a social do-gooder by donating either to the general fund via the OMAs Crowdrise page, or by launching your own team (perhaps under the name of your favorite fan army) and rallying your friends for support. Simply hit up the OMAs page and click “Fundraise for this event” to get started. You can start fundraising right now.
Start stretching your philanthropic muscles, chickens. It’s going to be quite the 24 hours!
