Christian Moms Angry Over Lena Waithe’s Queer Pixar Character

"Disney should stick to entertaining, not pushing an agenda."

Guess who’s going off on Onward.

One Million Moms, a boycott-crazy online conservative Christian group affiliated with the anti-LGBTQ American Family Association, is now targeting Disney/Pixar for including an openly queer character in its latest animated feature.

As NewNowNext previously reported, out Hollywood mogul Lena Waithe voices Officer Specter, a cyclops cop in a same-sex relationship.

Directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae, the fantasy film focuses on two elven brothers (voiced by Tom Holland and Chris Pratt). When Specter and another officer pull over a distracted driver, Specter sympathizes, saying, “My girlfriend’s daughter got me pulling my hair out.”

"There have been numerous attempts by Disney to indoctrinate children with the LGBTQ agenda discretely and now more overtly," writes One Million Moms spokeswoman Monica Cole in a statement. "Disney has decided to be politically correct instead of providing family friendly programming. Disney should stick to entertaining, not pushing an agenda."

More than 20,000 conservative Christians have supposedly signed a petition boycotting Onward, telling Disney CEO Bob Chapek that a gay character goes against their "beliefs and values."

“It just kind of happened,” Rae told Yahoo of Specter's sexuality. “The scene, when we wrote it, was kind of fitting and it opens up the world a little bit, and that’s what we wanted... [Waithe is] an amazing actress and writer—I think we improvised for about an hour for a small part.

“It’s a modern fantasy world and we want to represent the modern world," Scanlon added.

Meanwhile, Russian film distributors have reportedly censored Onward, changing "girlfriend" to "partner" and avoiding mention of Specter's gender.

One Million Moms made headlines last year after demanding that Hallmark Channel pull a series of wedding ads featuring lesbian brides. The ads were removed but quickly reinstated with an apology from the company.

The group previously called for a boycott of Pixar's Toy Story 4, describing the film's blink-and-you'll-miss-them lesbian moms as "dangerous."

Onward is in theaters March 6.
