t.A.t.U.'s Julia Volkova: "I Would Condemn A Gay Son"

tatu

Remember t.A.t.U.? That faux-lesbian Russian pop duo that had a hit 300 years ago with "All the Things She Said," which featured a young Julia Volkova and Lena Katina making out in schoolgirl uniforms in the rain?

Well that exercise in taste and subtlety may have escaped Volkova, who recently came out as a raging homophobe.

During an interview with a Russian television show, the singer said she would not accept a gay son because "a real man must be a real man."

I would condemn him, because I believe that a real man must be a real man. God created man for procreation, it is the nature. The man for me is the support, the strength of… I won’t accept gay son...

Two girls together – not the same thing as the two men together. It seems to me that lesbians look aesthetically much nicer than two men holding her hand or kissing.

tatu Let's not forget that Volkova is Russian, land of the anti-gay propaganda law. In fact, t.A.t.U.performed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Her former singing partner, Lena Katina, issued a statement in response on Facebook:

Hey, all! I am seeing some comments lately regarding my position about LGBT and my religion. I can say one thing: God is teaching us to live in love, to be tolerant and not to judge other people! And I do so!

Love is love and it is a wonderful feeling! I think everybody should be free to love who they love and be with who they want to spend their life with! Xoxo

Now that's one fake lesbian I can get behind.
