Oprah In Talks For Lee Daniels' "Terms Of Endearment" Remake

"Don't worship me until I've earned it."

Don't let it be said Oprah Winfrey is slacking off in her second act: Following news the media mogul will be joining 60 Minutes as a special correspondent, comes word she's in talks to star in Lee Daniels' remake of Terms of Endearment.

Winfrey, who previously appeared in Daniels' The Butler, would take on the role of hard-to-please matriarch Aurora Greenway, played by Shirley MacLaine in the Oscar-winning 1983 version directed by James L. Brooks.

In it, Aurora butts heads with her strong-willed daughter Emma (Debra Winger), who must face both the failure of her marriage and a terminal cancer diagnosis.

Terms of Endeatment

Terms of Endearment won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actress for MacLaine and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Jack Nicholson.

No word yet on who would play Emma in the reboot, but it would have to be somebody who could stand their ground against Winfrey. May we humbly suggest Moonlight's Naomie Harris?
