Matt McGorry joined his Orange is the New Black castmates at Logo's inaugural Trailblazers, where the  show was being honored for its nuanced depiction of lesbian, bi and trans women. NewNowNext's Brittany Berkowitz caught up with Matt on the red carpet, where the New York-born actor talked about the show's stunning success and its impact on the LGBT community.

Matt has been an ally to gays since way back—he was born and raised in Chelsea, went to theater school and will even appear on a float at NYC Pride this weekend.
