"Ordinary" Gay Men Get Naked For 2018 Calendar That Illustrates The Many Shapes Of Sexy

“I wanted to prove that you can be hairy and have a belly and it can be sexy.”

While there are plenty of 2018 calendars offering photos of chiseled male models and athletes, a new calendar from meat magazine is proving you don't need to have a six-pack to be sexy.

The London-based gay 'zine celebrates "real guys" by showcasing them in "stylish, un-retouched, natural photos," and the publication's 2018 calendar is taking the idea to a steamy new level.

Featuring 12 naked men of all shapes and sizes, meat wanted to fight back against the idea that all gay men must have "perfect, porn-ready bodies" in order to be attractive.

“These are ordinary men who all have their own hang-ups and issues, like any of us,” meat founder and editor Adrian Lourie told HuffPost.

Lourie wanted to address the body-shaming that goes on within the gay community and attacks the confidence of queer men—something the calendar's models were already familiar with.

“I thought I would never be picked because of my body shape,” cover model Fernando told HuffPost. “I wanted to prove that you can be hairy and have a belly and it can be sexy.”

"So many of us have issues with our bodies," a calendar model named Warren added. "We think we’re too fat, too skinny, too pale, our dicks are too small, our bums not pert enough or we’re too hairy."

"Confidence is sexy," he added, "so own what you’ve got and be proud, lads!”
