Tatiana Maslany, star of the sci-fi mega-hit Orphan Black, spoke to GLAAD’s Claire Pires recently about season 3 of her show and why she thinks the series resonates with LGBT audiences.

In a touching moment, Maslany is asked why she is an ally to the LGBT community and the question immediately brings her to tears. She replied:

¬†“It’s a no-brainer. There’s no question. A lot of my friends have struggled with coming out or with identifying, how they identify. It’s just a no-brainer to me. It just makes no sense that there wouldn’t be support for the community.¬†That it even has to be a separate community, like I don’t understand why there’s a line drawn.”
