Oscar Isaac "Very Open" To A Finn-Poe Romance In Future "Star Wars" Films

"People can see themselves in a hero like this, in a movie like this, which I love."

From the moment Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit theaters two years ago, fans have been obsessed with the theory that characters Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and Finn (John Boyega) will become the franchise's first gay couple.

We already know that the fan-fueled dream won't be coming true in the next installment, The Last Jedi, but Isaac says that he's not ruling out the possibility of the same-sex romance in future films.

“As to actually seeing how that manifests itself in Poe in this film, that isn’t necessarily going to be a clear story point," Isaac told Collider about his character's love life. "But as an actor, I’m very open to those storylines.”

Isaac was then asked what it means to him to potentially be the first gay or bisexual male character in a Star Wars film.

"What it means to me is that people can see themselves in a hero like this, in a movie like this, which I love," the actor said. "Not only LGBT, but Latinos. There’s representation out there."

Find out if there are any sparks noticeable between Finn and Poe when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15.
