Our Gay Stars: Cher, Kylie Minogue Land Spots On "The Voice"

Two of our favorite pop icons are gaying it forward on The Voice. First comes word that Cher will appear on the upcoming fifth season the music competition show, mentoring Blake Shelton's team.

We are squealing like lab rats that the Dark Lady's on board, but we kind of wish she had been paired with her old Burlesque pal Christina Aguilera or even tattooed hunk Adam Levine. (We all know Cher's love of younger men).

"This is an amazing thing for [young singers]," Cher told Yahoo Music. "They didn't have anything like this when Sonny and I started. We played bowling alleys and roller-rinks. This is amazing, where you have people who've been in the business, have been successful, and now want to help you — so you can kind of bypass a lot of the trashy stu112211_kylie_minogue_116235704ff."

Bypass?!? We live for Cher's trashy stuff!

And across the pond our favorite Aussie, Kylie Minogue, has signed on as a coach for the British version of The Voice next year. The "Timebomb" singer will work with will.i.am and Tom Jones, who is returning for the show's third UK season.

"I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both [seasons]," says  the pint-sized pop singer. "The search for new talent is such an important aspect of the music industry, and The Voice UK gives us all a part to play in that. Will I be competitive? Probably more than even I imagine! Watch this space!"

Minogue replaces "Domino" singer Jessie J, who left the show along with Irish singer-rapper Danny O'Donoghue, whose seat hasn't been filled yet. "While I will miss Danny and Jessie, I’m excited to be returning for season three and to work with Kylie and Tom," said will.i.am. "Together we will mix it up and bring new energy and ideas to the show."

Maybe this will lead to a Kylie-will.i.am collaboration? Or better yet, a Cher-Kylie duet?!? Pleasepleaseplease!
