The singer will also showcase his extreme vocal range on an upcoming Christmas album.

You’ve definitely heard the famous aria “Habanera” from the opera Carmen a countless number of times, but you’ve never heard it like this.

American Countertenor Terry Barber has released his own version of the aria, rearranged in a more modern and accessible way.

The result is mesmerizing, and definitely has us wanting to head to the opera more often.

Barber’s talent for creating unique arrangements will be put to good use this season when he releases the holiday album Christmas Presence.

The album will contain Barber’s distinct reinterpretations of holiday classics, as well as feature a new original song he co-wrote with Gene Scheer called “Christmas Once More.”

But while you wait for the holidays to roll around, enjoy his modern take on “Habanera” below.
