Out In the World on a Mission

A lesbian couple from San Francisco worries about homophobia and gay kids in trouble around the globe. But, they figure, why just worry when they can actually do something?

Hence Out and Around, their global travelogue. Jenni and Lisa have just left the US on a 15-country tour of countries where gay rights are just now starting to crop up and be discussed: their jouney began in New Zealand, where they interviewed out Olympians, members of the Air Force, and a Parliamentarian who was once arrested protesting apartheid and now focuses on improving life for LGBTQ kids.

They're calling these and future interview subjects Supergays, which is a term I'm not totally sure I can get behind, but then I remember to chill the hell out and appreciate how cute it is. And semantics aside, Out and Around is a very cool journey; travel with a purpose.

Jenni and Lisa will be updating the site as they go with video and text interviews, and they're still a little short of their $6,000 fundraising goal (the money will go towards video equipment and site maintenance). Throw them a little cash if you like; definitely give them a follow on twitter to keep up with their global adventures.
