Paley Center Celebrates Queer TV History With Star-Studded NYC Event

"Will & Grace," "Modern Family," and "Soap" will receive special salutes at the gala tribute.

LGBTQ representation on TV has come a long way since televisions were first wheeled into family living rooms back in the 1950s. Today there are many out queer characters on screens, but it wasn't always that way.

To coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots and World Pride in New York, the Paley Center is throwing The Paley Honors: A Gala Tribute to LGBTQ+ Achievements in Television on Wednesday, May 15.
